The Asura God is the God Realm's Law Enforcement God and the holder of a divine position centered on slaughter and killing intent. Though his office ranks slightly below the four God Kings in formal authority, he is regarded as the strongest among the first-class gods and had been the leading candidate for a new God King position. His merits in the battle against the Dragon God further strengthened those prospects 586.

His inheritance was established in Slaughter City, where an ancient castle administers the Asura God's Nine Trials. The Asura Demon Sword, a divine artifact and personal sword of an earlier Asura God, remained there to identify successors. The sword considers the Asura God's selection standards far stricter than those of lesser divine positions, and it killed Tang Chen after judging him unfit to proceed 107 117.

The Asura God values the purity and control of a successor's killing intent over mere cultivation talent. His trials can increase in rank when a candidate greatly exceeds their requirements, with rewards adjusted to match the upgraded assessment 411.

Selection of a Successor

The Asura God's inheritance influences events in Slaughter City through the Asura Demon Sword. Tang Chen, previously connected to the divine position, is killed when the sword turns on him and drains his life energy and Asura affinity 107 117. The sword subsequently chooses Mo Lin, who becomes the Asura God's heir.

Asura God's Trials

Mo Lin enters the ancient inheritance castle in Slaughter City and receives the Asura God's Nine Trials. He completes the first seven trials within one year—spending only six months actively undertaking them—and reaches an unprecedented 200% affinity with the divine position after the seventh trial 449.

The result shocks the God Realm. Existing records state that inheritors normally reach only 100% affinity before the ninth trial, while Tang San had reached 115% during the Sea God's trials 449.

Intervention from the God Realm

Concerned that Mo Lin could be endangered in Douluo World, the Asura God transmits part of his divine power through the inheritance site and assigns divine officials to protect him. Unaware of Mo Lin's opposition to the God Realm, he does not realize that Mo Lin is eroding and assimilating the bestowed power for himself 450.

Threatened by the New Angel God

Qian Renxue's ascension as a God King-level Angel God disrupts the Asura God's expected promotion. His status as Law Enforcement God remains below the four God Kings, and Qian Renxue's emergence introduces a more powerful candidate for the additional God King position 586.

Inheritance and Betrayal

Mo Lin completes the ninth trial and inherits the Asura God's divine position, manifesting the blood-red divine armor of Asura. His power rises to quasi-God King level, but he deliberately suppresses the final breakthrough rather than openly become a God King 587.

The Asura God then reveals his true objective: he wants Mo Lin to kill Qian Renxue in the lower realm so that her death will remove the obstacle to his own advancement. Mo Lin responds with continent-wide killing intent, attacks the Asura God through a passage to the God Realm, and drains more than half of his origin power 588 589.
