Background / History

Naruto was born to Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage, and Kushina Uzumaki, an Uzumaki princess and the previous Nine-Tails jinchūriki. During the Nine-Tails' attack on Konoha, Kushina's weakened seal was broken by a mysterious assailant. Minato and Kushina sealed the Nine-Tails' Yang chakra, along with remnants of their own chakra consciousness, inside their newborn son before sacrificing themselves to protect Konoha. 46 47

His parentage and role as the Nine-Tails' jinchūriki were concealed. Naruto grew up isolated and treated as a “demon fox,” despite being the child of Konoha's heroes. 46

As a child, Naruto was friendly toward Qianyu and eagerly introduced himself when Qianyu shared food with him. He later enrolled in the Ninja Academy alongside Qianyu, Sasuke, Hinata, Choji, and other future Konoha shinobi. 2 4
