Xiao Wu attends Shrek Academy alongside Tang San, whom she calls “Third Brother.” She initially presents herself as lively and direct, such as when she proposes that the pair share a room at an inn 69. Her mood darkens whenever the group discusses hunting soul beasts or Spirit Hall, reflecting her hidden identity and fear of being discovered 80 81.

During Tang San’s hunt for his third soul ring, the Titan Giant Ape abducts Xiao Wu. She later returns safely, explaining that she found and absorbed a suitable soul ring after being released 86 87.

Dugu Bo and Sea Dragon Douluo recognize her as a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast at Heaven Dou Royal Academy. Terrified that she will be hunted for a soul ring and soul bone, Xiao Wu learns that Li Hanche has known her identity all along 117. His knowledge becomes the basis for coercion: he blackmails her into undermining Yu Xiaogang’s relationship with Tang San, arguing that Yu Xiaogang repeatedly harms Tang San through his decisions 134.

Under Li Hanche’s pressure, Xiao Wu openly denounces Yu Xiaogang and challenges him to fight her if he wants to continue teaching Tang San 136 170. Her actions contribute to the deterioration of Tang San and Yu Xiaogang’s master-disciple relationship, while her own bond with Tang San becomes increasingly strained 147.

Li Hanche later claims to have arranged her safety through an exchange with Tang Hao and offers continued protection in return for obedience 150 151. By the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament, Xiao Wu observes that the Titled Douluo around her genuinely leave her alone, despite knowing what she is 179. In Spirit City, Li Hanche again promises that no one will touch her 190.

Her identity as a transformed soul beast leaves her deeply fearful of powerful soul masters, particularly Titled Douluo and Spirit Hall.
