As Azure Cloud disciples arrived to investigate, they found a thriving settlement shaped by Luo Yunji’s improved techniques and He Dazhi’s careful management.

• Luo Yunji left Azure Cloud with Bi Yao and Youji, and Zhang Xiaofan stayed beside him when Song Daren and He Dazhi found them in Heyang City.
• He Dazhi and Wu Dayi left Big Bamboo Peak with their fellow disciples to bring Zhang Xiaofan and Luo Yunji back, while Tian Buyi sent them off under an oath to return safely.
• The Ghost King welcomed the group to Mount Huqi, then moved Wu Dayi and his junior brothers to a barren mountain as Luo Yunji’s Rain Technique spread, and Luo Yunji used Spirit Rain to make the mountains fertile.
• He Dazhi organized five thousand imperial soldiers to gather rare plants, and Zhang Xiaofan and He Dazhi established the Food Mansion, which drew chefs and cultivators seeking meals and cultivation advice.

He Dazhi and his companions developed Sanfu Town while confronting rogue cultivators, murderers, and the Ghost King Sect’s interests. Zhang Xiaofan then led an expedition against a brutal bandit stronghold, where the bandit chief died and a rescued mother and her children were offered a place at his inn.

• Wen Min and Zeng Shushu visited Sanfu Town, while Song Daren learned He Dazhi wanted him to help build an underground city and hone his earth control.
• Luo Yunji, Zhang Xiaofan, and Dahei saved the Prince’s party from a snake demon, and He Dazhi later hosted a townwide banquet and agreed to the court sending officials to Sanfu Town.
• He Dazhi secured the Ghost King’s cooperation and offered Ghost King Sect disciples roles in the town’s security forces, then confronted rogue cultivators and exposed spies from several sects.
• Zhang Xiaofan investigated murders in Sanfu Town, identified the killers, and executed them, while Zhou Yixian arrived and foretold connections involving Zhang Xiaofan and Luo Yunji.
• Zhang Xiaofan led Luo Yunji, Liao Xing, and the Third Prince to attack a bandit stronghold where captives had been abused, and they encountered Old Ancestor Fengyue and the bandit chief.

Zhang Xiaofan pursued clues to immortality while Luo Yunji's offer to teach cultivation drew new followers to Sanfu Town. After learning that Luo Yunji's incomplete soul threatened his life, Tian Buyi joined the search for the Five Seas, with Old Ancestor Fengyue and the Prince providing new leads.

• Old Ancestor Fengyue gave Zhang Xiaofan clues from the third volume of Records of Strange Ambitions, and Zhou Yixian identified the Five Seas.
• Luo Yunji offered to teach the Taiji Mystic Purity Dao in Sanfu Town, then proposed creating a soldier cultivation method for those without the required aptitude.
• He Dazhi organized registration under the Three No-Teaching Rules, and Wu Dayi accepted Zhong Ming as a disciple.
• Zhang Xiaofan and Luo Yunji returned to Big Bamboo Peak, where a Strange Weapon escaped from Lu Daxin's arm before Lu Daxin sealed it inside himself again.

Tian Buyi led Luo Yunji and their companions north to the Sea of Nether Domain, where a hurricane scattered the expedition and left many soldiers dead. After rescuing survivors and discovering Luo Yunji’s incomplete cultivation method was changing the soldiers, the group entered an ice cave filled with invisible, deadly creatures and became lost.

• Tian Buyi’s party left Sanfu Town for the Sea of Nether Domain, joined by the Ghost King and his followers after Tian Buyi revealed the expedition’s promise of immortality.
• The group crossed Qing Province, where Luo Yunji captured a Jiang Feng and repeatedly wandered off, while Zhang Xiaofan and He Dazhi rescued Killing Monk and helped Luo Yunji deal with a swarm of bees.
• At the edge of the far north, Luo Yunji built an ice fortress, and Old Ancestor Fengyue explained that the Sea of Nether Domain held trapped souls and dangerous ancient beasts.
• A hurricane swept away the expedition, separating Luo Yunji and Zhang Xiaofan from Tian Buyi and the Ghost King, and Luo Yunji and Zhang Xiaofan then rescued nearly six hundred survivors from beneath the ice.
• Luo Yunji taught the soldiers his unfinished cultivation method, and the dead soldiers chose to follow him as a ghost legion, and Tian Buyi later worried about Luo Yunji’s worsening symptoms and the method’s effects.
