Di Lin was born to Commander Dijiang in the Imperial Capital. On the day of his birth, Lin Junyu approached Dijiang, offered the Shura Sword as a congratulatory gift, and arranged to become Di Lin's adoptive father and teacher. Lin Junyu promised instruction in strategy, governance, martial arts, and cultivation techniques. 41

Although he recognizes that her existing strategy can capture Milton at little cost, he explains that his reinforcements serve a broader purpose: demonstrating to the world that the Empire's new military order has surpassed the old era.
