"Bang!"

A deafening explosion rang out. Son Gohan, who had been crying in the space pod, suddenly stared blankly and stopped.

His tiny body jerked, then went still. After a long moment, his unfocused eyes slowly came back into focus.

"Ugh, so loud. Was that thunder?" Son Gohan muttered instinctively.

When he looked more carefully, shock washed over his face. Three people were fighting fiercely in midair outside.

One of them was green all over, but his entire left arm was missing.

"Son Goku, Piccolo, and Raditz!"

Son Gohan cried out in shock. He knew these three all too well—they were characters from Dragon Ball. How could they be right in front of him?

"I... I've crossed over?"

"But my head doesn't hurt, and neither does my body?"

He hurriedly examined himself from head to toe. It seemed he had become a little kid. A familiar face appeared in the reflection on the space pod's window.

A hat sat atop the little boy's head, with a Four-Star Dragon Ball set prominently into it.

"I've become Son Gohan!?"

"This is the best possible choice!"

"Ugh, there's only one bad thing about being a kid." Son Gohan looked down. His little brother showed no reaction at all; he could barely even feel it.

"Never mind. I'd better deal with the trouble in front of me first."

After his initial excitement, Son Gohan calmed down. Seeing the three fighting outside, he now understood his situation.

Vegeta and the others had found a planet they could sell for a good price, so they'd teamed up to attack it. But they'd nearly found themselves in a tough fight.

That was when Raditz remembered he had a younger brother on Earth. He wanted to use the power Son Goku would gain as a Great Ape to help him conquer that planet.

Son Goku refused, so Raditz kidnapped Son Gohan. Annoyed by the child's constant crying, he locked him inside the space pod he'd arrived in.

Before long, Son Goku came to rescue him with Piccolo, and the battle broke out.

"The situation's looking pretty bad. If this keeps up, Piccolo's Special Beam Cannon will score a double kill." Son Gohan muttered.

"Sure, Son Goku can be brought back with the Dragon Balls after he dies, but I should still save him if I can."

He waited a little longer. There was no system panel, no cheat ability, not even a ding in his mind announcing a sign-in reward.

"No cheat ability? Then I'll have to rely on myself."

Son Gohan wasn't discouraged. This Saiyan body was the biggest cheat ability of all. If I use it well, I'd even dare turn down a steak dinner with Zeno.

"Raditz's battle power is only 1,500 right now, while this four-year-old body of mine can reach 1,307 when enraged."

"Add Son Goku and Piccolo, and it's three against one. We've got the advantage. Let's do this!"

Son Gohan watched the two dads getting beaten up outside the space pod. He swung a fist and slammed it against the hatch, but it didn't budge.

"Uh, I forgot. When I'm not angry, my battle power is only one." Son Gohan scratched his head awkwardly.

What could he do to get angry?

The original Son Gohan had snapped after seeing Son Goku injured, but he couldn't use that method now!

After all, he still didn't see Son Goku as his dad.

"Got it. I'll think about how I crossed over."

The more Son Gohan thought about it, the angrier he got. In his previous life, he'd merely been crossing a national highway when a passing freight truck treated him like a speed bump.

The worst part was that the truck hadn't even braked to check on him. It had just driven straight off.

Fine, it had hit someone—but how dare it run away?

"Die, Kakarot!" Raditz roared.

He planted one foot on Son Goku and raised his right hand, ready to end his life.

Suddenly, the reading on the Scouter over his left eye began to fluctuate. A powerful aura poured out from inside the space pod.

"Boom!"

A deafening blast erupted inside the pod, filling it with blinding golden light. Then it exploded, sending countless shards of metal flying as a small figure appeared in midair.

"Impossible!" Raditz gaped.

"Son Goku's... son?" Piccolo stared in disbelief.

"Gohan, run!" Son Goku shouted from the ground, badly wounded.

Son Gohan's eyes were bloodshot, his little face twisted with rage. His surging aura swept in every direction.

"His battle power... is actually... 2,000!" As Raditz read out the number, the corner of his mouth twitched repeatedly. Cold sweat dripped down his forehead.

"The Scouter must be broken!"

He ripped off the Scouter and smashed it against the ground, then shouted furiously, "What the hell? You were supposed to give me the good stuff! Why'd you hand me a defective product?"

Raditz refused to believe the Scouter's reading. He figured the scientists in the Frieza Force had cut corners and made faulty equipment.

"Why did you treat me like a speed bump?"

Son Gohan saw Raditz as the truck driver. He could no longer hold back his fury. In a flash, his body became a swift blur as he charged forward with a fist raised.

"Bang!"

Raditz had no time to react. It was as if he'd been struck by a sledgehammer. The tremendous force exploded against his chest, and his Saiyan Battle Suit shattered on the spot.

He flew backward and slammed heavily into a boulder, cracking it apart.

Raditz's chest caved in, a bloody mess. Blood kept spilling from his mouth, his body trembled uncontrollably, and his eyes were full of terror.

Son Goku and Piccolo were both dumbfounded. The damage that punch had done to Raditz was worse than the damage they'd inflicted combined.

"Still alive?"

Son Gohan wasn't satisfied with his performance. Looking at Raditz's pitiful state, he walked over to finish him off with another punch.

For that instant, his battle power had reached 2,000. It had to be because he'd crossed over and his soul had fused with Son Gohan's, making this body's potential even greater.

"Being a Saiyan is great. You can get stronger just by getting angry. I used to get angry all the time, but all it did was make me sick and give me thyroid nodules." Son Gohan thought.

"Please, don't kill me! I know I was wrong!"

"I'll keep my promise and never come back to this planet. I'm your actual uncle!"

Raditz was so badly injured he couldn't even stand. He'd lost all will to fight and began begging for mercy.

"Gohan..." Son Goku's heart softened, and he wanted to plead for Raditz.

"Fine. I won't do it."

Son Gohan thought that since he was still a child, he shouldn't seem so bloodthirsty. He gave Piccolo a look, then silently stepped back.

"Thank you, thank you. I'll leave right now." Dragging his badly injured body, Raditz crawled away slowly.

"Hmph, think you can escape?"

Piccolo stood over Raditz and blocked his way.

Early on, Piccolo had a strong demonic nature. Raditz had blasted off his entire arm, so there was no way Piccolo would let him go just like that.

"You can't kill me! Vegeta will avenge me!" Raditz cried out in despair.
