"Special Beam Cannon!"

A fierce beam of light pierced through Raditz's body. His whole body stiffened, his eyes filled with unwillingness and pain.

"Damn it... In a year... my two companions will come here... When that happens... you'll all be crushed like bugs..."

Blood gushed from Raditz's chest. His head tilted to one side, and he died completely.

The scouter he had tossed aside crackled with electricity, showing that it had not been completely destroyed.

"In a year, two even stronger Saiyans will arrive."

Despair showed on Son Goku and Piccolo's faces. They had needed a child's help just to defeat one Raditz.

How much stronger could they become in a single year?

Son Gohan helped Son Goku up and comforted him. "Dad, don't worry. I know a good place where we can become stronger quickly."

He looked at the dead Raditz without feeling any pity. He had never intended to train Raditz from the beginning.

Bardock's eldest son was completely different from his younger son, Son Goku. Raditz had possessed high fighting power at birth and had been judged an elite warrior.

Yet he had made no effort afterward, and his strength had only worsened. By adulthood, he performed like a low-class warrior.

Raditz bullied the weak and feared the strong, and he was fickle by nature. He had none of a Saiyan's pride.

He had neither strength nor character, a complete waste of space. Training him would have been worse than training Mr. Satan.

At least Mr. Satan really stepped up when something happened.

Meanwhile, on a remote planet at the edge of the universe, the land was covered in ruins. It was obvious that war had just taken place there, with billowing black smoke rising into the sky.

"Raditz is dead. Should we go to Earth and avenge him?" bald-headed Nappa asked.

"That useless trash is better off dead." Vegeta smiled cruelly.

"Still, Kakarot's four-year-old child has a fighting power of 2,000. That's quite surprising."

"We happen to be short-handed. I'll have that child join us and replace Raditz."

Vegeta and Nappa exchanged smiles before entering their space pods to sleep. The two pods shot toward Earth at tremendous speed.

"Hey, Goku!"

Bulma flew over in an aircraft, bringing Krillin and Master Roshi to the scene.

"Are you all right?" Master Roshi asked with concern.

"We're fine."

Son Gohan told Krillin, Bulma, and Master Roshi what had just happened and informed them that even stronger enemies would arrive in a year.

"There are two more Saiyans?" Bulma's face turned pale.

"Damn it, I'm too weak. I can't be of any help!" Krillin clenched his right fist and slammed it into his left palm.

"Uncle Krillin, you can gather Tien Shinhan, Yamcha, and Chiaotzu. Go train together at the Lookout," Son Gohan suggested earnestly.

He had originally wanted to take everyone to train on King Kai's Planet, but he feared that Krillin and the others would not be able to endure its tenfold gravity. After thinking it over, he decided they should progress step by step.

In truth, Tien Shinhan, Krillin, and the others were genuine martial artists who trained diligently every day. If not for the limits of their own talent, their achievements would have been immeasurable.

Perhaps he could find a way to help them in the future.

"But will Kami let us go there?" Krillin asked worriedly.

"Kami has already seen everything that happened here clearly. He's the one most afraid of Earth being destroyed," Piccolo suddenly said coldly.

"Even if you don't want to go, that old man will beg you to. An extra bit of strength is always good, even if it might not be useful."

"All right, I'll go find Tien Shinhan and the others right now."

Krillin floated in midair using Flight, glanced back at Son Gohan, then sped off in one direction.

He felt that Goku's child had changed since their first meeting. He was no longer so timid and prone to tears. Instead, he was calm and confident, nothing like a four-year-old child.

Krillin was not the only one present who thought so.

Just now, Son Gohan had calmly explained everything that had happened, then reasonably arranged for Krillin and the others to train.

That was far too unusual for a four-year-old child.

"Maybe Gohan was badly frightened after Raditz captured him, awakening his Saiyan bloodline and changing his personality as well."

"Just like when Goku fell off a cliff as a child, suffered a serious head injury, and underwent a drastic personality change." Master Roshi stroked the white beard on his chin as he analyzed the situation.

"That's right, Master Roshi makes sense. I was wondering how I was supposed to explain this to Chi-Chi, hahaha." Son Goku laughed in relief.

Hearing Master Roshi's analysis, Son Gohan secretly rejoiced. He almost wanted to give him a thumbs-up.

As expected of an old man who had lived for hundreds of years—he was wise. Son Gohan had not even figured out how to explain himself, yet Master Roshi had made it clear in just a few words.

"Aaaah!"

Piccolo's expression twisted in pain as he screamed. His severed left arm suddenly grew back, and thick green fluid covered the entire limb.

"That's so disgusting. It's like a lizard's tail." Bulma hid behind Master Roshi's back, speaking with both fear and disgust.

"Son Goku, I hope you train hard over the next year. I can't defeat two Saiyans by myself."

"And that brat—don't waste his potential. A year from now, we might still have to rely on him."

"If you don't know how to teach him, hand him over to me. I guarantee I'll make him a powerful warrior." Piccolo's expression returned to its coldness.

"Piccolo, thanks for this time. But I'll train Gohan myself. Chi-Chi would never agree to hand him over to you." Son Goku had recovered some of his strength and stood up from the ground.

Piccolo had only mentioned it casually. Seeing that Son Goku was unwilling, he did not press the matter and turned to leave.

"Wait, Uncle Piccolo. Training alone can only improve your strength so much. Why not come with us to a better place?"

"Have you heard of King Kai's Planet? It has ten times Earth's gravity, and King Kai himself will teach us. It'll be enough to greatly increase our strength within a year."

Son Gohan appealed to both emotion and reason, explaining King Kai and King Kai's Planet to Piccolo from every angle in the hope that he would go train there with them.

At this time, Piccolo still did not know of King Kai's existence. On all of Earth, only Kami and Fortuneteller Baba knew.

"If you don't go, then in a year, the gap between my dad's strength and yours will become enormous."

Son Gohan's final words struck right at the heart of the matter, hitting Piccolo where it hurt.

"Brat, what nonsense are you talking about? Fine, I'll listen to you and go take a look. If the results aren't good, I'll leave immediately." Piccolo had still been completely persuaded.

"No problem," Son Gohan agreed readily.

He was absolutely certain that once Piccolo went, there was no way he would leave halfway through.
