Background / History

The World Tree began as an unknown, dead innate spirit seed whose dense heaven-and-earth Dao nature had suppressed its own spirituality. Its original fate was to assimilate into heaven and earth and evolve into a special world, but Yang Huai instead refined it into an other self and sought to restore its missing wood-element origin 522.

Yang Huai identified Jianmu as likely being the severed half of the World Tree. Daoist Taiwei took half of Jianmu's origin, transformed it into an innate azure dragon, and used the recovered origin to restore the seed's vitality 522. Taiwei then planted the seed in Chaotic Cave Star, where it absorbed All-Heaven stellar Qi for nearly twelve hundred years before sprouting 523.

Once born, the World Tree regulated Chaotic Cave Star's spiritual Qi, space-time, and natural laws. Daoist Taiwei sealed the surrounding Chaotic Cave Star Sea with the All-Heaven Star Array, planted rare spiritual roots around the tree, and established cultivation abodes with altered time flows for Mystic Sect disciples 524.

As it grew, the World Tree extended roots into the Thirty-Six Heavens, purifying and enriching their primordial Qi. Yang Huai used the tree's foundation in developing the “World” Dao Path, which stands upon space-time while coordinating the changes of heaven and earth 531.

After reaching maturity, the World Tree flowered and condensed World Tree Seeds capable of becoming treasures, stars, grotto-heavens, secret realms, worlds, or second-generation World Trees depending on where they were nurtured 535. It later absorbed the shattered origin of the River of Time, became a complete World Tree, and generated a new River of Time 546.

During the formation of the All-Heavens Myriad Realms Map, World Tree roots entered newly opened primordial universes through its marks and governed them in place of their creators 558. When the Heavenly Worlds Dao Diagram fused with the World Tree Embryo and the Wild Wasteland's origin, the tree attained the Other Shore and became one with the wider Heavenly Worlds system 561.

Appearance

The World Tree develops from a gray-black seed into a vast platinum ancient tree associated with space-time, world origin, and heavenly Dao rhythm.
