The Horde's Terrifying Logistics

Seeing King Varian deep in thought, Mathias Shaw pulled a piece of intelligence written on parchment from inside his clothes and handed it to him. The reason he had deliberately served up the Horde's rations was to lay the groundwork for this report.

King Varian unfolded the report and began reading. Before long, he had finished it. "Pandaren? Those strange black-and-white people?"

"Yes, Your Majesty. Legend says the Pandaren are an even older race than the Night Elves. No one knows where they live now, but information from a Night Elf suggests that the Pandaren Empire possesses cultivation techniques that can produce a harvest in a single month, more powerful even than those of Druids. And that Pandaren named Chen Stormstout may very well be helping the Horde obtain the legendary Pandaren supplies." Mathias Shaw truly deserved to be the leader of SI:7. Though his combat ability was rather lacking, he was exceptionally capable at certain underhanded dealings.

A harvest in one month... To King Varian, that was nearly impossible. Though he had never farmed personally as a member of the royal family, he knew there was no such thing as a crop ripening every month. In the past, he would have scoffed at it, but reality stood before him. The Horde's supplies were simply too abundant.

"A harvest every month..." King Varian repeated. Then his eyes flashed sharply as he said sternly, "No. This ability must be in the Alliance's hands. No matter what, we cannot allow the Horde to obtain it. Shaw, I want you to investigate everything related to the Pandaren. If we cannot acquire this technology, then destroy it completely."

In truth, both Mathias Shaw and King Varian had guessed wrong. Rend naturally wanted to find Pandaria as well, but Pandaria was currently shrouded in mist.
