Doctor Strange stood atop Mount Everest, looking at the expanse of white snow around him. Perhaps this could help him calm down.
He did not know how many sorcerers there were in this world, nor how many people Mordo would attack. But Mordo had gone down this path, and Doctor Strange found it unbelievable. He could hardly accept it.
The cold wind blew across his cheeks, as if its chill could freeze time itself.
He was thinking, and he was reflecting. Perhaps he should tell Mordo what Ancient One had told him. Ancient One had not accepted Dormammu's power out of greed for strength. She had done so to better protect people. Mordo did not know about this, and that might have been why he had fallen into darkness. But Earth was becoming increasingly dangerous. If Mordo could not hold to his position and continued like this, Earth's fate could only end in destruction.
The existence of many sorcerers did not mean Earth was facing danger. Yet whatever had emerged from the rifts in the world had already revived the dead Quicksilver. Doctor Strange did not know what that meant, but he knew the world was facing destruction.
An invisible force seemed to have locked onto Earth. He had to shoulder responsibilities he had never needed to bear before.
"What exactly are you thinking? Or rather, have you figured out where Mordo went?" Wong stood behind Doctor Strange, watching him stare into space. He did not have that much patience. It was freezing here, after all, and Wong felt that he should be protecting his students right now, ensuring that they could live safely.
Doctor Strange opened his mouth. He wanted to say something, but nothing came out for a long time. He could only breathe out a puff of white mist and continue staring blankly ahead. Sometimes, he truly wished time could stop, so he could find a solution and contemplate life properly.
Wong truly could not wait any longer. He said to Doctor Strange, "Think here by yourself. I can't wait that long, especially when it's this cold. I really can't take it anymore. I'm leaving!"
"You needn't be like this." Doctor Strange finally spoke. Looking at Wong, he said, "You're so fat. I don't think you should be afraid of the cold. Besides, the students are safe. They're in the Mirror Dimension I set up."
Wong was helpless. "Why don't you take a look at how cold it actually is here?"
"It doesn't matter how cold it is. What matters is that this place helps us think." Doctor Strange closed his eyes and felt the temperature around him. He looked like a reclusive master searching for the true meaning of life in nature.
But seeing Doctor Strange like this, Wong truly felt as though he were an idiot. At least, that was what Wong thought. His gaze drifted toward the more distant snow-covered mountains as he said to Doctor Strange, "This place doesn't help you think. It helps you think of something else, doesn't it? Like Ancient One?"
"Yes, and Mordo as well. I miss the Ancient One and Mordo from back then. Mordo trusted Ancient One so much, believed in her faith so deeply, but now..." Doctor Strange sighed. He had never expected Mordo to become like this.
Mordo could be considered half his mentor, yet he had now strayed down the wrong path. Doctor Strange wanted to bring him back, but there was a strange magic array on Mordo that prevented Doctor Strange from locating him through magic. This version of Mordo frightened Doctor Strange even more, because he feared Mordo had been controlled or misled by someone else.
"What are you going to do, exactly? What's the use of staying here? Why can't we take the initiative and strike first?" Wong did not understand Doctor Strange's thoughts. Looking at the absent-minded Doctor Strange, he felt utterly helpless.
"Strike first? Do we know where he is? Do we know where he will attack, or when, or who he will attack?" Doctor Strange said. "All we can do is wait calmly."
"Wait for what?" Wong asked.
"An opportunity. An opportunity to make him change his mind."
Lu Mingyu's actions greatly impressed Spider-Man. Only three suits remained before them now, which was a good thing for the two of them.
However, Lu Mingyu's speed had not yet recovered, while Spider-Man's stamina had steadily dropped from the intense exertion earlier. He had even collapsed to the ground, panting heavily.
The three suits possessed completely different abilities: freezing, confinement, and absolute strength. They were three different powers. Lu Mingyu did not know which one he could handle now, or whether he would be smashed apart the instant they met.
Allen Armor instantly fused onto him, while all the other suits exploded. When Allen Armor had passed through them, it had accidentally destroyed part of their energy sources, triggering a chain explosion. However, the remaining three suits were the hardest to deal with.
Lightning still flickered in Lu Mingyu's eyes from time to time, but the Speed Force was currently suppressed, preventing him from moving quickly. Still, he had Allen Armor now, and he felt that was at least something good.
Tony broke out in a cold sweat in the laboratory. He desperately hoped Spider-Man and the others would succeed, so when he saw Lu Mingyu make that move, he was shocked speechless. Tony even felt some admiration for Lu Mingyu's decision at that moment. He could not understand why a first-year college student could remain so calm, capable of launching a desperate counterattack even when defeat seemed certain.
It caught Tony completely off guard and also filled him with delight.
He spoke into the microphone. "The three suits left in front of you won't be easy to handle, especially that strongman. Although he's a defective model from my experiments, he can still punch you right into a wall. His strength is immense, and his defense is extraordinary."
"So how you deal with them next is up to you."
Spider-Man looked at the wreckage before him. He knew that if they could just hold on a little longer, they would succeed. His training would earn its first victory. He was excited now, and his heart pounded rapidly, rising into his throat.
Success or failure would be decided in this one move. Spider-Man put on his mask, adjusted his web-shooter enhancer, then looked at the intact enhancer and said, "Lu, let's go."
"How do we go about it?" Light flickered across Lu Mingyu's armor as he looked at Spider-Man, unsure how they should respond now.
"Make them kill each other."
Spider-Man put on his mask and said with great seriousness, "Since they're attacking us, their attacks must be accurate, but there will still be some margin of error. So if we lure their attacks toward the other suits, we might succeed."
"Alright, I understand." Lu Mingyu got ready. Though he could not move as fast as he could in his extreme-speed state, the armor still enhanced him beyond ordinary people, so he could still draw their attacks.
He said to Spider-Man, "Focus the attacks of those two suits on the strongman. That way, we'll take care of the strongest suit. As for the rest, perhaps we'll have to wait until my superpower recovers to deal with them."
Spider-Man nodded. "Alright. Maybe by then, my stamina will have fully recovered."
