| Name | Tony Stark |
| Alias(es) | Iron Man; Mr. Stark |
| Gender | Male |
| Affiliation | Avengers; Avengers Tower |
| Occupation/Role | Armored hero, inventor, mentor to Lu Mingyu and Spider-Man |
| First Appearance | Appears in damaged Iron Man armor 4 |
Background / History
Tony is attacked by the resurrected, Black Lantern-corrupted Quicksilver after his armor is damaged and disabled. Without the suit, he depends on Lu Mingyu to escape; despite his fear, Lu repeatedly refuses to abandon him. Tony later acknowledges that Lu saved his life and sees in him a refusal to give up on others. 5 7 12
After bringing Lu to Avengers Tower, Tony offers him a place to stay, attempts to recruit him to the Avengers, conceals his existence from outside scrutiny, deletes surveillance footage revealing Lu’s powers, and has Jarvis create him a false identity. 11 12 15 16
Tony becomes Lu and Spider-Man’s trainer. He subjects them to Iron Legion exercises and designs specialized speedster armor for Lu, repaying the boy for saving him while preparing him for another confrontation with Quicksilver. 19 21 23
As threats from Mordo, Black Lantern Quicksilver, Reverse-Flash, and the world rifts escalate, Tony protects the Avengers’ information with a decoy archive room and joins Doctor Strange in confronting Mordo. His conventional armor proves unable to withstand Mordo’s magic. 31 33 35
During the destruction of Stark Tower, Tony uses the Allen Armor’s stored Speed Force to enter a high-speed state and confront the Dark Blade. The blade bears his signature and responds peacefully to him, leading Reverse-Flash to accuse him of creating it and orchestrating Quicksilver’s resurrection. Tony denies responsibility, proposing that another version of himself—or a future version—may be involved. 43 44 45 46
Personality
Tony is intensely confident in his technology, even when Lu Mingyu warns him that waiting for his armor could get them killed. He dismisses the idea of calling the Avengers while communications are blocked and insists that Quicksilver can be defeated by his suit. 9 11
He is sarcastic and confrontational, particularly with officials investigating his laboratory, but uses that reputation to shield Lu’s secret and prevent scrutiny of Avengers Tower. 16 17
Despite his arrogance, Tony is protective of younger heroes. He rescues Spider-Man from a fatal fall, arranges training for both Peter and Lu, and knocks Spider-Man unconscious rather than let him join a battle against Black Lantern Quicksilver. 18 19 43 44
Tony is troubled by his inability to protect people close to him. His investigation into the Speed Force is driven by the desire to defeat Quicksilver and protect others, while the possibility of time travel makes him think of saving his deceased parents. 47
Abilities & Skills
Engineering and armor design
Tony creates and operates advanced armor systems, tailoring equipment to specific threats and users.
- Remotely summons and assembles his Iron Man armor after it reconnects to his signal. 11 23
- Designs Lu Mingyu’s speedster armor by removing weapons and flight systems that could destabilize it at high speed. 21
- Builds two armors capable of storing Lu’s excess Speed Force without draining his speed or stamina. 43
- Uses the Iron Legion as a configurable training force for Spider-Man and Lu. 21 23
- Creates a fake archive room to protect the Avengers’ real files from Mordo. 31
Tactical planning and information control
Tony uses Jarvis, surveillance, misdirection, and his public influence to manage threats.
- Deletes footage exposing Lu Mingyu’s powers and deactivates the associated alarm. 15 16
- Fakes the destruction of the Thomas-31 armor to explain the alarm to investigating officials. 16
- Relies on Jarvis to analyze Reverse-Flash’s movements and deploy the Iron Legion to the identified location. 31
- Keeps Lu’s room restricted to Lu and himself while hiding Lu’s identity. 16
Speed Force use
Tony can temporarily use Speed Force stored in the Allen Armor.
- Enters an extreme-speed state using residual Speed Force in the Allen Armor. 43 44
- Perceives the world in near-stillness while moving as blue lightning. 44
- Cannot rely on this power indefinitely; the Allen Armor’s storage device is destroyed after Black Lantern Quicksilver attacks it. 44 46
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Iron Man Armor — Tony’s primary armored suit, equipped with flight capability, lasers, and remote assembly functions. 11 33
- Iron Legion — Multiple specialized Iron Man suits used for training and combat exercises. 21 23
- Barry Armor — Lu Mingyu’s fitted speedster armor, designed for cooling, friction reduction, acceleration, and safe high-speed movement; later modified with owner recognition so only Lu can operate it. 21 47
- Allen Armor — Lu’s earlier speedster armor, capable of storing excess Speed Force; Tony wears it during the Stark Tower battle. Its storage system is later damaged beyond repair. 43 46
- Speed Force ring — A ring containing stored Speed Force, given to Lu as an emergency backup. 46 47
- Dark Blade — A hostile weapon bearing Tony’s signature that becomes calm in his hand; Tony’s connection to its creation remains unresolved. 44 46
Relationships
- Lu Mingyu — Rescuer, houseguest, trainee, and trusted ally. Tony hides Lu’s identity, equips him with specialized armor, and credits him with saving his life. 12 16 21
- Spider-Man (Peter Parker) — Younger hero under Tony’s supervision. Tony rescues him from Mordo, brings him to Avengers Tower, and trains him alongside Lu. 18 19 20

- Jarvis — Tony’s AI assistant, responsible for surveillance access, armor control, identity fabrication, analysis, and security measures. 11 15 16
- Mordo — Hostile former sorcerer who attacks Tony alongside Black Lantern Quicksilver. 33 35
