Lu Mingyu had never expected his power to strengthen the Hulk Suit. By the time he realized it, the three different suits had already launched their attacks at once, with Lu Mingyu as their sole target.
Spider-Man fired webbing, trying to stop the Spider Suit, but his webs were like lines on white paper, quickly erased because they were—too conspicuous.
A web pattern instantly appeared across the Spider Suit. Lu Mingyu was incredibly fast, darting about wildly while releasing small tornadoes from his hands. The miniature tornadoes battered the Freeze Suit and Spider Suit with fierce winds, making their movements slightly unsteady.
Seizing the opportunity, Lu Mingyu quickly moved beside the two suits and redirected each of their attacks toward the other. He kicked apart the right leg of one suit, then instantly retreated, taking Spider-Man with him just as he was about to block the attack.
"Oh my god!" Lu Mingyu kicked Hulk while in his high-speed state, and the impact nearly numbed his leg. Hulk's defense was clearly absurdly powerful. Lu Mingyu quickly exited his high-speed state, his leg still shaking badly from the force.
Spider-Man was surprised to find himself in a different position. He turned to Lu Mingyu behind him and said, "I didn't react at all when you came over!"
"That's normal," Lu Mingyu said. He suddenly remembered how Iron Man had vomited after experiencing his high-speed state. Looking at Spider-Man, he added, "It's already pretty good that you didn't throw up."
Spider-Man shook his head. He really did feel nauseated and dizzy. Maybe he truly wasn't suited to this state. He turned to look at the Freeze Suit and Spider Suit, only to see them striking each other with their respective attacks.
The freezing ray turned the Spider Suit into something like an ice sculpture, while the Freeze Suit was bound by the Spider Suit and unable to move.
The two suits fell at the same time, leaving only Hulk on the field. But Lu Mingyu had no idea how to deal with him. Though he knew Flash had abilities like passing through objects, he did not know how to use them.
Lu Mingyu was still not familiar enough with his own powers, so he could not control many of them. Facing a suit like Hulk, he had no idea how to defeat it for the moment.
Looking at Spider-Man, he asked, "How are you still holding on?"
"I want to win once. Ever since the Civil War, I've basically been training here the whole time. But what I want to say is, I haven't succeeded even once. So I really hope I can succeed, so I can feel like I've learned something." Spider-Man's obsession was intense. He wanted to win, so he had kept going until now.
But Lu Mingyu's focus was not on that. He said, "Learned something? What did Tony teach you?"
Clearly, this interested Lu Mingyu greatly. He wanted to know what Tony had done to make Spider-Man use the words "learned something."
"I just said it casually, haha?" Spider-Man laughed awkwardly, glancing at Hulk in front of him as an intense sense of oppression rose within him.
Maybe he really could not succeed. Spider-Man did not want to give up, but he could not help feeling somewhat negative. Lu Mingyu nodded and did not pay much attention to Spider-Man's laugh. He knew Tony might have taught Spider-Man something without realizing it himself. That was why Spider-Man did not know whether he had truly learned anything.
"Let's do this. You use your webs to restrain his movements, then I'll attack. I'll try using momentum to defeat him." Lu Mingyu laid out the strategy. Their conversation did not involve asking whether it would work; they simply put it into action. They had no time to discuss whether the plan was viable.
Webbing shot from Spider-Man's hands as he pushed off the ground and charged toward Hulk. He did not comment much on Lu Mingyu's decision, only knowing that it seemed like the best option at the moment. While restraining Hulk, he could naturally land his own attacks more effectively, but the most important source of damage still rested with Lu Mingyu.
Lu Mingyu's super speed, combined with his armor's protection, allowed him to unleash his strength effectively. Spider-Man wanted armor like that too, but it would never truly belong to him. Lu Mingyu watched Spider-Man race away, then curled his lips into a smile and transformed into lightning as he shot forward. He was so fast that even he could not stop any faster. Everything around him seemed frozen, and he quickly overtook Spider-Man, who was still charging ahead. Then he noticed that the air around him seemed slightly distorted.
It was as if the lightning had disrupted the air—or perhaps space itself. In any case, Lu Mingyu did not know what it meant. Maybe he could use that distortion to break through space, though that was only his imagination.
Lu Mingyu was moving too fast, carrying too much momentum. He curled into a ball and slammed fiercely into Hulk. Protected by his armor, he did not suffer any serious injuries. Still, the armor's vibrations made Lu Mingyu somewhat uncomfortable. Perhaps his physical condition was not good enough yet.
Hulk was sent flying backward by Lu Mingyu's collision. But the instant Lu Mingyu stopped, he raced behind Hulk and sent him rebounding back again.
At first, Lu Mingyu had wanted to destroy Hulk's energy source, but he discovered that it was very well protected.
The next second, Lu Mingyu ended his high-speed state. His body was tingling from the impacts, and he needed a moment to recover.
Spider-Man was stunned by Hulk's sudden collapse. He knew Lu Mingyu had done it, but he had not seen Lu Mingyu's movements—or rather, the lightning—at all. Perhaps Lu Mingyu's power was slowly improving.
"Didn't we say I'd restrain him first?" Spider-Man asked Lu Mingyu about that astonishing move as he advanced by firing webs.
Sweat drenched Lu Mingyu's head as he explained, "I was afraid he could dodge your webs, so I knocked him down first."
Spider-Man said nothing more. His red figure flashed past Lu Mingyu's eyes, and his webbing turned into a web that wrapped around Hulk's feet. Lu Mingyu was now thinking about how to truly defeat Hulk. Clearly, lightning attacks were useless against him.
With a hiss, the webbing quickly wrapped around Hulk's arms as well, but Hulk's strength was simply too great.
Lu Mingyu crouched halfway to the ground. Though he was not in a guarded state, his mind was constantly working.
He did not know how to pass through objects, so he also did not know how to defeat this Hulk.
The success or failure of this training depended on this attempt. Lu Mingyu was sweating with excitement, not knowing how he should resolve this.
Just as Hulk was about to break free from the webs, Lu Mingyu moved. Blue lightning continuously burst from his body. At that moment, Lu Mingyu looked like Thor as he reversed his power, trying to drive two different kinds of lightning into Hulk's body and thereby destroy the energy source.
The blue lightning continued to surge upward, and then a streak of red lightning quietly appeared.
