Troubled Spider-Man

Lu Mingyu and Tony returned to Avengers Tower. He was about to undergo special training with Reverse-Flash.

The next day, Tony kept searching for any information on Reverse-Flash, but still found nothing. He could only compromise regarding Reverse-Flash's origins. He was gradually coming to believe that Reverse-Flash truly came from another world.

Because Reverse-Flash had a fairly good relationship with Lu Mingyu, Tony began to speculate about Lu Mingyu's identity as well. He had never found the name Lu Mingyu anywhere on this Earth—not even someone with the same name. So either Lu Mingyu's identity was fake, or he too had come from another world.

For now, though, Tony leaned more toward the latter.

He arranged rooms for Lu Mingyu and Reverse-Flash while also looking for a training ground for them. Looking at Reverse-Flash's uniform, Lu Mingyu said, "You made this completely based on Flash's suit, didn't you?"

"Not entirely. It has a few of my own ideas. For speedsters like us, we don't need anything special. As long as it's practical, that's enough. Your armor is rather flashy, so it isn't very practical." Reverse-Flash looked at the Allen Armor Lu Mingyu had taken off and continued, "And I don't think red and blue go very well together, either."

Lu Mingyu said, "That's true, but Mr. Stark probably chose those colors based on the color of my lightning, right?"

"I don't know, but it still doesn't look that good." Reverse-Flash gave his opinion, then looked at Lu Mingyu in confusion. "Why is your Speed Force so strange? First, it can charge me. Second, it can continuously evolve. Yes, your lightning changed color earlier because your Speed Force changed."

Lu Mingyu said, "Then how can I help you return to your world? I think Flash can't do without you, even though what you did to him was rather cruel."

"It's simple. Assist me. To help me return to my world, all we need to do is continuously increase your speed." Reverse-Flash looked into the distance through the window at the blue sky. He did not recognize this unfamiliar world. Everything here was so foreign to him that he could not believe he had crossed over to this place.

Reverse-Flash knew a great deal about crossing through worlds, but he still found it hard to accept that he had traveled to a universe outside his own universe series.

Lu Mingyu set aside what he was doing, then turned to find Spider-Man. He wanted to talk to Spider-Man about something.

"Where are you going?" Reverse-Flash hoped Lu Mingyu could stay with him. All he could think about now was whether the people of this Earth would treat him as an experimental subject. After all, he had come from a different universe series.

Watching Lu Mingyu leave, Reverse-Flash felt somewhat worried. There were many ways to deal with his powers, though few people could actually pull them off. In this unknown world, he did not dare be alone. So whenever he saw Lu Mingyu, Reverse-Flash felt reassured.

There were many things in Avengers Tower that Reverse-Flash had never seen before. It was natural for him to be afraid. With so many technological products around, perhaps there was always some piece of equipment that could target him.

"I'm going to find someone." Lu Mingyu did not turn back. He had no idea what Reverse-Flash was afraid of.

Reverse-Flash said, "Can I come with you?"

"Fine." Lu Mingyu sighed and led Reverse-Flash out of the room. He was quite composed as they walked, since this was a secret room and a rather large one at that.

The secret rooms Tony had arranged were highly secure, so he was very reassured about Lu Mingyu and Reverse-Flash.

"Ugh." Spider-Man sat in his room and sighed. He had not expected Tony to distrust his abilities so much. He knew Tony wanted to protect him, but if he never experienced real combat, how could his abilities improve?

"Mr. Stark, why don't you trust me? My abilities are pretty reliable." Spider-Man gloomily drank cola by himself as he looked at his homework. His grades could not be neglected, after all.

He still remembered what Mr. Stark had said to Aunt May when he first brought him here: "Don't worry. Peter will be fine. Relax, I can get him to the top of his class. Don't worry, he has plenty of ability and talent."

Just thinking about those words gave Spider-Man a headache.

For the past few days, he had been stuck in a constant state of training. He had always wanted to win during training, but he had never succeeded. Yes, that one time he had worked with Lu Mingyu did not count, because Lu Mingyu had been taken away by Reverse-Flash.

So Spider-Man thought that if he could not succeed in training, then at least he could not fall behind in his studies, right?

But now, looking at the courses on his computer, Spider-Man truly felt despair.

He could not succeed in training, he was not allowed to take part in actual combat, and his studies were still being delayed. It was truly driving Spider-Man crazy. At least, he was extremely frustrated right now.

Jarvis's voice sounded in his room. "Mr. Lu and Mr. Flash have come to see you."

Lu Mingyu's voice outside could not be heard in the room at all. Sounding slightly tired, Spider-Man said, "Open the door."

"Certainly, Mr. Peter." Jarvis's voice was always so pleasant, but Spider-Man still did not particularly like it, just as he did not like Mr. Stark's lack of trust in him.

The door opened, and Lu Mingyu and Reverse-Flash entered. Lu Mingyu looked at Spider-Man and said, "It's okay, don't worry. Mr. Stark doesn't distrust you that much. He just doesn't want you to get hurt."

"I know, but it still doesn't feel good." Spider-Man did not voice his grievances. He did not want those negative emotions to affect anyone else.

Since he still needed to study, Spider-Man asked, "Do you need something?"

"Yes. I've been thinking about whether you and I can team up to deal with Black Lantern Quicksilver."

"Black Lantern?" Reverse-Flash and Spider-Man repeated the term.

The former knew about the Black Lantern Ring, while the latter had never heard of the term Black Lantern—especially not with someone's name attached to it.

Reverse-Flash said, "The Black Lantern Ring? It came here?"

"What are you talking about?" Spider-Man looked at Reverse-Flash and Lu Mingyu. He completely did not understand the current situation.

Spider-Man said, "I want to know how that Quicksilver was resurrected. That way, we'll have a better chance of winning."

"First of all, he was resurrected entirely because of the Black Lantern Ring. But anyone resurrected by the Black Lantern Ring is like a zombie. I really couldn't tell that this Quicksilver looked like he was possessed by the Black Lantern Ring. Second, those controlled by the Black Lantern Ring need to devour other people's hearts to maintain their existence." Reverse-Flash searched through his memories of the Black Lantern Ring, then said, "The Speed Force changed here, and even the Black Lantern Ring can change. That's truly strange."

Reverse-Flash lowered his head and pondered it. Then Lu Mingyu added, "Part of Quicksilver's current speed comes from absorbing my speed. So as long as you keep him occupied, I believe that no matter how much of my power he absorbs, he won't have any combat strength."

"Then how am I supposed to catch him?" Spider-Man asked.
