By the time Zhengye woke, the sun was already high in the sky.
"Mm... That felt good." He stretched.
Sleeping at home really was more comfortable.
The exhaustion from days of travel and having his chakra drained earlier had vanished without a trace.
Now that he had recovered, it was time to deal with clan affairs.
After washing up, Zhengye went out to check on Kisame Hoshigaki.
But the guest room was empty.
"Huh?"
Zhengye was puzzled.
Not only was Kisame Hoshigaki gone, but Kurita Anko, who was usually at home, was missing too.
Zhengye did not dwell on it and headed straight for the clan head's office.
He pushed the door open. To his surprise, Fugaku had not gone to the Police Force. He was in the office, handling paperwork.

Zhengye walked over to the desk and picked up the documents: a plan to promote the Ironcutter series of ninja tools in Kusagakure; clan marriage and childcare subsidies; prizes for the seventh clan combat tournament; arrangements for purchasing clan uniforms...
It was all one trivial matter after another.
"You've got me wrong," Zhengye said. "I just foiled Akatsuki and the Hidden Cloud's plan to destroy the Hidden Mist Village."
"And while I was at it, I got Shisui and Itachi to leave Akatsuki and return to the clan. How is that slacking off?"
"Wha... what!?" Fugaku froze for a moment, then stared at him in shock.
"Wait, was that Kaito...?" Fugaku had heard the news, but he did not know what had happened behind the scenes.
