History
Tang Ya disappeared without notifying anyone after the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Soul Fighting Tournament. Beibei searched relentlessly for her, while the destruction of the Iron Blood Sect created speculation that she was involved. No proof of her whereabouts was found at the time. 3
Before becoming Long Wushang’s divine servant, Tang Ya had already fallen into evil soul master practices in pursuit of strength. Her stated driving goal was reviving the declining Tang Sect, but her fixation on power, revenge, and restoration led her to devour others’ soul power and take innocent lives. 8 9
In the Dragon Tomb, Tang Ya became increasingly dependent on Long Wushang while he undertook the Lust Calamity of the Original Sin Divine Trial. Her formerly impish disposition had shifted into that of a cold, aloof, mature woman following her corruption. 2 4
Long Wushang later offered her an Original Sin Contract and the authority of Greed. Tang Ya confronted memories of Beibei, Shrek, her former aspirations for the Tang Sect, and the people harmed by her actions. Believing that she had already passed the point of return, she accepted the contract and became Long Wushang’s first Original Sin Divine Servant. 9
During the Holy Spirit Cult’s assault on Shrek City, Tang Ya remained visibly torn by the sight of the Tang Sect and Beibei, but her contract-bound loyalty to Long Wushang did not waver. When Beibei asked her to return, she answered that they could not go back. 15 16 18
After the attack, she chose to remain with the Holy Spirit Cult despite continuing conflict over Beibei and her past. She then accompanied Long Wushang and Long Xiaoyao to Sunset Forest in search of the Icefire Yin Yang Well. 25 30
At the well, Tang Ya attempted to clear the toxic valley entrance with her martial soul, but the ten-thousand-year poisonous miasma overwhelmed her vines and poisoned her. Long Xiaoyao intervened, forcing her to sever the affected vines and purge the toxins. 31
She later assisted Long Wushang and Long Xiaoyao against the intelligent plants guarding the Icefire Yin Yang Well, selectively draining soul power from attacking vine-type plants. Long Wushang subsequently provided her with selected immortal-herb essences to refine; by the time he emerged from the springs, much of her previous lifelessness had faded and her vitality had noticeably returned. 34 36 37 41
Appearance
Tang Ya is described as an exceptionally beautiful young woman. Following her corruption, her bearing becomes colder, more mature, and more languid than her earlier impish image. 2 18
- Wears a dark-purple gown during the battle at Shrek, fitted at the waist. 18
- Her Sinful Blue Silver Grass manifests as dark-gold-edged grass and vines. 18 20
- Her expression is often calm or indifferent around former companions, though brief hesitation shows when confronting Beibei and Huo Yuhao. 18 21
- After refining immortal-herb essences, she regains much of the vitality she had lost through corruption. 41
Personality
Tang Ya is driven by an intense desire for power, initially rooted in her wish to restore the Tang Sect. That desire became the foundation of her compatibility with Greed, as she was willing to pursue strength through evil soul master methods and accept the consequences of her choices. 8 9
She is not portrayed as mindlessly controlled: Huo Yuhao’s spiritual detection finds her consciousness clear and her soul power stable when she rejects Shrek’s appeals. Tang Ya insists that she understands her actions and has never felt more clear-headed or liberated. 19
Despite her commitment to Long Wushang, she retains emotional attachments to Beibei, the Tang Sect, and her former students. She feels pain upon seeing the Tang Sect attacked and hesitates when confronted by those she once cared for, but ultimately chooses loyalty to Long Wushang over reconciliation. 15 16 18 25
