Following Tang Ya’s disappearance after the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Soul Fighting Tournament, Beibei searched for her almost every day. He exhausted his available resources, personally requested assistance from Shrek’s higher-ups, and prompted his great-grandfather Mu En to secretly investigate her whereabouts, but no useful lead emerged 3.

He frequently returned to Sea God Lake, the place where he had first met Tang Ya, dwelling on their memories and promises. Huo Yuhao found him there after emerging from seclusion and persuaded him to redirect his grief toward becoming stronger; Beibei accepted the advice and resolved not to remain consumed by sorrow 3.

Before the Holy Spirit Cult’s assault on Shrek, Beibei managed Tang Sect recruitment. He rejected applicants seeking only free soul-tool resources, stressing that recruits needed to invest effort and genuinely accept responsibility for the sect’s future 12.

During the attack on Shrek City, Beibei organized the evacuation of lower-year students, shielded freshmen from danger, and held the route to the teaching buildings alongside Xu Sanshi, Huo Yuhao, and Wang Dong 13 14. When Tang Ya appeared as an evil soul master at Long Wushang’s side, Beibei initially refused to fight her and instead pleaded for her to return. Following Huo Yuhao’s death, Beibei attended his funeral alongside Xu Sanshi and the other mourners. Long Wushang’s convincing display of sorrow and regret persuaded Beibei that he bore no responsibility for Huo Yuhao’s death, causing the rumors surrounding Long Wushang’s involvement to fade 128.

After Azure Douluo Yu Xiaogang awakened at Shrek, he discovered Beibei training alone at night with self-destructive intensity.
