Background / History
Mu En guarded Shrek Academy for centuries as its foremost deterrent and the Master of Sea God Pavilion. His existence as a Rank 99 Limit Douluo was central to Shrek’s ability to intimidate rival factions across the continent. By the beginning of the Holy Spirit Cult’s campaign, however, his health had deteriorated to the final stage of his life. He nevertheless continued personally guiding Shrek’s younger generation, including Huo Yuhao. 10 13
He was once a close friend of Long Xiaoyao and Ye Xishui. Their past entanglements complicated his response when he learned that Long Wushang—who led the attack on Shrek—was their son. 15 16
Appearance
In his final years, Mu En appeared as a frail elderly man with a pale complexion, white hair, and a habitual recliner in Sea God Pavilion. When he fought, he could restore his posture through borrowed life force and assume the form of the enormous Light Sacred Dragon. 13 15 17
- Aged, visibly weakened body during peacetime. 13
- White hair that billowed behind him after he forcibly revived his depleted vitality. 17
- Golden dragon scales and a massive Light Sacred Dragon form in battle. 15 22
- His body ultimately dissolved, leaving only a loose white robe behind. 28
Personality
Mu En was patient and gentle toward Shrek’s students, offering Huo Yuhao guidance not only in cultivation but in understanding martial souls and the wider continent. 13
As Shrek’s protector, he was pragmatic enough to make cruel judgments for the academy’s safety. When Long Wushang challenged him, Mu En could not deny that he might have eliminated a young Wushang if the latter lacked Long Xiaoyao and Ye Xishui’s protection, fearing the threat posed by the Original Sin Demon Puppet. 16
His final actions reflected a protective, reform-minded outlook. Rather than preserve Shrek’s prestige at all costs, he urged its leaders to prioritize the lives of children and adapt to the threat posed by soul tools. 27 28
Abilities & Skills
Light Sacred Dragon Martial Soul
Mu En possessed the Light Sacred Dragon martial soul and could transform into an enormous golden dragon to defend Shrek City and confront Long Xiaoyao’s Dark Sacred Dragon. 13 15
- Created a golden curtain of light over Shrek City to shield it from enemy bombardment. 15
- Drew on the Golden Ancient Tree’s life force to temporarily restore his decayed body and combat strength. 15 17
- Used his ninth soul skill to briefly restrain Long Xiaoyao before rescuing Huo Yuhao. 22
- His light barrier purified evil soul masters and stabilized the injuries of Shrek’s defenders after Sea God’s Light was activated. 24
Dragon Core
Mu En nurtured a dragon core over centuries of cultivation. It contained the Light Sacred Dragon bloodline essence as well as his understanding of dragon-type martial souls, light-element power, and soul power cultivation. 28
- Removed the core despite knowing it would immediately collapse his remaining body. 28
- Entrusted it to Er Ming for Huo Yuhao to refine after recovering sufficiently. 28
Sea God’s Light
As Master of Sea God Pavilion, Mu En could access Sea God’s Light, Shrek Academy’s sealed divine trump card. 23
- Activated it through a golden crystal bearing a trident imprint beneath Sea God Pavilion. 23
- Generated divine radiance that suppressed the Original Sin Demon Puppet and forced the Holy Spirit Cult to retreat. 23
- Its use consumed his blood, vitality, and the Golden Ancient Tree’s life energy. 23 24
- Only successive Sea God Pavilion Masters were qualified to access it. 23
Instruction and Administration
Mu En was an experienced mentor and administrator whose final orders reshaped Shrek’s post-attack structure. 13 27
- Guided Huo Yuhao in martial souls, cultivation, and the continent’s broader situation. 13
- Appointed Xuan Zi as acting Master of Sea God Pavilion, while requiring major decisions to be voted on by the Elders’ Council. 27
- Ordered Shrek’s soul tool department to receive resources equal to the martial soul department. 27
- Directed Zhuang Lao to build a wartime medical system after Shrek’s healing response proved inadequate. 27

- Ye Xishui — Former close friend whose past relationship with Mu En and Long Xiaoyao remained emotionally unresolved. 15 16
- Long Wushang — Enemy and son of Long Xiaoyao and Ye Xishui; Mu En attempted to persuade him to leave the Holy Spirit Cult but regarded his Original Sin Demon Puppet as a grave potential threat. 15 16

Story Role / Major Arcs
Holy Spirit Cult Assault on Shrek
When Long Xiaoyao and the Holy Spirit Cult attacked Shrek City, Mu En transformed into the Light Sacred Dragon and defended the city against the Dark Sacred Dragon and coordinated soul-tool bombardment. He recognized that the assault’s real purpose was to slaughter Shrek’s younger generation and destroy the academy’s future. 13 14 15
Forced to choose between remaining as Shrek City’s shield or confronting Long Xiaoyao, Mu En left behind a defensive light barrier and burned his remaining lifespan to enter the battle. 15 17
Confrontation with Long Wushang
Mu En attempted to persuade Long Wushang to abandon the Holy Spirit Cult, arguing that evil soul master power would eventually consume him. Long Wushang rejected the appeal and challenged Mu En’s authority to judge him or Tang Ya. 16 17
The exchange forced Mu En to confront the limits of his own principles: he acknowledged through silence that he might have treated Wushang as an unacceptable threat had the youth not been protected by his lineage. 16
Sea God’s Light and Final Sacrifice
After rescuing the critically injured Huo Yuhao, Mu En activated Sea God’s Light as Shrek’s last resort. The divine power suppressed the invading evil soul masters, compelled the Holy Spirit Cult’s withdrawal, and saved the academy from immediate destruction. 22 23
The activation exhausted what remained of his life force. Even while dying, Mu En organized Shrek’s reconstruction, reformed its leadership structure, established new medical priorities, and demanded greater investment in soul tools. 24 27
Death and Legacy
Mu En removed his dragon core and entrusted it to Er Ming for Huo Yuhao’s future recovery. He then gave Xuan Zi a final instruction to value the lives of Shrek’s children above its glory before his body dissolved into golden motes and merged with the Golden Ancient Tree. 28
