The wizards had invaded this plane for a full year. During that time, Krite had looted a vast quantity of Merfolk's Tears. Meanwhile, as Krite's apprentice, Taylor continued to advance slowly along the path of his training.
Half a year ago, the strongest being on this plane—the Sea Giant—had been cleaved into a charred mass by Wizard Tucker and thoroughly slain, becoming part of Tucker's collection.
The four merfolk kings who ruled the plane had also been slain by the Level Two wizards and turned into specimens. The remaining tribal chieftains, Merfolk Great Warriors, and other such figures were hunted down by the Level One wizards, ultimately wiping out all of the Merfolk Plane's high-level combatants.
The remaining half year had, in fact, been set aside specifically as a reward for the wizards who had participated in the planar invasion, allowing them to plunder wealth and knowledge.
The merfolk's swift downfall shocked not only Taylor, who was collecting azure-blue metal, but also Kano, who had been hiding in the shadows and planning to stir up resistance among the common merfolk.
What the hell was this? He had manipulated and guided them, painstakingly helping that idiotic mutated fish gather a large force of merfolk to launch an uprising. Yet when he turned around, he discovered that the entire merfolk race had already fallen. They did not have a single high-level combatant worth mentioning left, making everything he had done useless.
Weren't they just complete trash?
They couldn't even hold out for a year? Weren't they utterly useless?

Left with no other choice, Kano acted directly. Before One-Horn's shocked eyes, he cut off his head and stored away the body.
Looking at the merfolk who had
