Ch. 41Sea Giant Attack

The Floating City awakened its Stitched Beast Legion and Puppet Legion after arriving in a new plane, then came under attack from a Sea Giant. A white-robed wizard repelled the Sea Giant’s strike with overwhelming lightning, leaving the giant wary of the invaders’ strength.

  • The Floating City’s wizards prepared for war as its Stitched Beast Legion and Puppet Legion awakened.
  • Several Sea Tornadoes struck the city’s protective barrier, then a Sea Giant emerged from the ocean and attacked with a massive seawater trident.
  • The Sea Giant’s blow shook the Floating City and nearly knocked Taylor off his feet.
  • A white-robed wizard struck the Sea Giant with immense blue lightning, forcing him to defend himself with a mountain-sized seawater shield.
  • The lightning reduced the shield to a thin film and killed sea creatures nearby, while the Sea Giant realized the wizard’s power was greater and more efficiently used than his own.

Ch. 42Lifeforms and Power

Taylor watched Wizard Tucker, the Level 3 wizard leading the invasion, battle the Sea Giant while Krite explained how powerful lifeforms embodied knowledge and contained runes that wizards could study. The fight remained evenly matched thanks to the Sea Giant’s command of the ocean, while the Floating City stayed at a distance in preparation for the invasion.

  • The Sea Giant summoned Sea Tornadoes and ordered the invaders to leave, but Krite dismissed his threat.
  • Krite told Taylor that the Sea Giant was the plane’s strongest lifeform and that Wizard Tucker was a renowned Level 3 wizard leading the invasion.
  • Krite explained that the power, blood, bones, and runes of strong lifeforms held knowledge that wizards could study and inherit.
  • Wizard Tucker unleashed a vast ocean of magical lightning against the Sea Giant, who countered with tsunamis and Sea Tornadoes.
  • The Sea Giant fought Wizard Tucker to a temporary deadlock with the ocean’s aid, while the Floating City remained far away.

Ch. 43Invasion Begins

Krite and Taylor teleported with Butler and the Puppet Legion to their assigned battlefield as the wizards began a full-scale invasion. The Raging Tide Chieftain gathered his tribe’s forces to confront the invaders, unaware of how they had spread across the plane.

  • Krite showed Taylor the distant clash between Wizard Tucker and the Sea Giant, then prepared to teleport to their assigned battlefield.
  • Krite, Taylor, Butler, and the Puppet Legion vanished from the Floating City through group spatial teleportation.
  • The Raging Tide Chieftain learned that strange humanoid constructs had appeared near his tribe and recognized them as the invaders’ forces.
  • The Raging Tide Chieftain ordered one thousand Merfolk Warriors and two thousand Merfolk Hunters to assemble.
  • The Raging Tide Chieftain rallied his gathered forces and civilians to fight the invaders, confident that the merfolk would defeat them.

Ch. 44Release the Demon

Taylor and Krite studied the plane’s unusually active Water Element while their Puppet Legion stood ready, and Taylor released Kano to scout ahead. Kano transformed into a fishman and set off, leaving Krite to remark on his Magic Mech.

  • Taylor complained about the water and adapted to the plane’s strong Water Element while Krite studied its water, mist, and ice.
  • Taylor examined the plane with an Otherworld Element Analyzer and released Kano from his Magic Mech.
  • Kano saw Krite’s Puppet Legion and considered how useful a force like it would be for future plane conquests.
  • Kano asked to scout the plane, and Taylor agreed while he and Krite continued their research.
  • Kano transformed into a fishman and disappeared from Taylor’s sight, and Krite praised his Magic Mech.

Ch. 45First Battle

Krite and Taylor’s research was interrupted when the Raging Tide Chieftain led a merfolk army against them. Krite destroyed the chieftain’s tsunami and ordered the Puppet Legion to meet the charging merfolk, leaving Taylor facing his first large-scale battle.

  • The Raging Tide Chieftain attacked Krite and Taylor with a tsunami while they were studying the plane’s elements.
  • Taylor tried to cut apart the tsunami with Crescent Wind Blades, but Krite used Wind Tornadoes to shatter it and turn the seawater against the merfolk.
  • The chieftain stopped the Sea Tornadoes with an Ice Wall, then rallied his shaken troops with a cry of “Long live the merfolk!” and led them in a charge.
  • Krite reassured the nervous Taylor and ordered Number One through Number Seven to lead the Puppet Legion against the merfolk.

Ch. 46Complete Suppression

Krite’s Puppet Legion clashed with the Raging Tide Tribe, whose strongest fighters struggled to hold back the Construct Puppets. The merfolk army was overwhelmed by the puppets and golems, leaving the battle decisively in Krite’s favor.

  • Krite’s seven Construct Puppets advanced as the Magic Mechs and golem legions formed up behind them.
  • The Raging Tide Chieftain attacked two Construct Puppets, but their strength and healing allowed them to withstand his ice and trident strikes.
  • The Raging Tide Chieftain used his Beast Tooth Necklace to summon a sea beast that delayed one Construct Puppet, while he and three Great Warriors engaged the others.
  • Two Construct Puppets charged into the merfolk army, killing Merfolk Warriors and Merfolk Hunters whose weapons could not harm them.
  • Krite’s Iron Golem and Granite Golem legions joined the assault, crushing the merfolk forces beneath their shields, blades, and sediment maces.

Ch. 47A Rout

Krite’s Puppet Legion routed the Raging Tide Tribe’s merfolk army and defeated its elite forces. After collecting the fallen leaders, Krite prepared to dissect the Level 1 merfolk to study their bodies and runes.

  • Krite’s Magic Mechs, Iron Golems, and other puppets slaughtered the merfolk army, driving the survivors into a panicked retreat.
  • The Construct Puppets killed the Raging Tide Tribe’s three Merfolk Great Warriors and brought their bodies to Krite.
  • The Warblade Construct defeated the Fang-toothed Sea Beast, which turned into a Beast Tooth Necklace that the Construct picked up.
  • The Meteor Hammer Construct killed the badly wounded Raging Tide Chieftain and dragged his corpse to Krite.
  • Krite and Butler set up instruments for a dissection of the Level 1 merfolk, but Krite remembered he still had something to do before beginning.

Ch. 48Go Gain Experience

Krite sent Taylor away to gain experience by killing a thousand fishmen, while Kano set out alone to infiltrate fishman society and stir up unrest. Taylor began his journey under Butler’s watch, and Kano searched for a tribe whose ambitious members he could exploit.

  • Taylor watched Krite’s Puppet Legion kill the fishmen and lay the Level 1 Lifeform fishman out for dissection.
  • Krite gave Taylor a book about the Gale Spell and Wind Element, then sent him flying away and ordered him to return after killing a thousand trident-wielding fishmen.
  • Krite began dissecting the Level 1 fishman and recalled how his own teacher had sent him out to gain experience.
  • Butler vanished after Taylor, apparently following him on his journey.
  • Kano transformed into a red-robed fishman and searched for a fishman tribe where he could blend in and foment rebellion among ambitious members.

Ch. 49One-Horn

One-Horn, the despised and frail younger brother of the Coral Tribe’s chief, sought advice from the sage in a coral grove and revealed his grievances and longing for power. The sage was actually Kano, who saw One-Horn as a promising way to advance his plans to sow unrest among the merfolk.

  • One-Horn endured the tribe’s insults over his black horn and weakness, despite his brother Coral’s protection.
  • One-Horn went alone to the coral grove to seek guidance from the sage.
  • Kano concealed his contempt for the merfolk while using his mind-link ability to build trust and pursue his plan to destabilize their tribes.
  • One-Horn confirmed he could speak to the sage through his thoughts and recounted his hardships, anger, ambitions, and origins.
  • Kano recognized One-Horn’s status and desire for power as an opportunity to bewitch him.

Ch. 50Guidance

Kano manipulated One-Horn’s resentment and encouraged him to use his mind-controlling ability to win friends and supporters. One-Horn defied his brother’s warning and returned to the tribe with new ambition, while Kano celebrated the first step of his plan.

  • One-Horn told Kano about the bullying he had endured and his wish to be respected and become the tribe’s guardian deity and chieftain.
  • Kano learned that One-Horn’s black horn could forcibly control other fishmen and recognized its value.
  • Kano told One-Horn that his ability was a gift he could use to make the fishmen his friends.
  • One-Horn decided to ignore his brother’s warning and use his ability to gain friends and supporters.
  • Kano watched One-Horn return proudly to the tribe and laughed, pleased that his plan had begun.

Ch. 51Quarrel and Disagreement

One-Horn returned to the Coral Tribe and used his black horn to gather fishfolk supporters, dreaming of becoming a revered chieftain. When Coral discovered how One-Horn had gained their loyalty, the brothers argued, and One-Horn left with a guard.

  • One-Horn used his black horn to turn fishfolk who mocked or bullied him into friends and supporters, and began dreaming of becoming chieftain.
  • Coral returned from hunting, learned that One-Horn had gained supporters, and felt proud of him before preparing a sea beast's hind leg for dinner.
  • One-Horn came home with a warrior who now obeyed him fanatically, and told Coral he had used his power to make friends.
  • Coral accused One-Horn of controlling the fishfolk's minds, while One-Horn insisted they followed him willingly.
  • The brothers argued until One-Horn left with the guard, and Coral smashed the kitchen utensils in anger.

Ch. 52It Was Jealousy

After Coral angrily confronted One-Horn over his ability, Kano encouraged One-Horn to interpret his brother’s actions as jealousy while pretending to counsel reconciliation. One-Horn left convinced Coral was jealous, and Kano anticipated that One-Horn would soon become chieftain and appoint him as adviser.

  • One-Horn returned to Kano and asked why Coral had been angry about his ability and whether Coral hated him.
  • Kano suggested Coral might be upset because One-Horn had disobeyed him, while urging One-Horn to explain himself to his brother.
  • One-Horn recalled his past mistreatment and decided Coral’s refusal to let him use his ability came from jealousy.
  • Kano denied that Coral was jealous but subtly validated One-Horn’s suspicion, making One-Horn feel respected and more distrustful of Coral.
  • One-Horn promised to speak with Coral again, while Kano privately expected him to become chieftain and appoint Kano as his adviser.

Ch. 53Taylor's Path of Training

Taylor traveled through the shallows while studying wind-element knowledge and improving his Gale Spell, then reached a small merfolk tribe to begin Krite’s trial of killing one thousand Merfolk Warriors. After secretly killing a guard, he dragged the corpse into a hidden cave and began dissecting it.

  • Taylor evaded a shark-headed, octopus-bodied sea beast with wind magic, cut off two of its tentacles, and watched it flee into the deep sea.
  • Taylor followed Merfolk Hunter tracks to a small, unnamed tribe built on a coral reef and planned to lure out its Merfolk Warriors and chieftain.
  • Taylor used a disturbance in the coral to draw an isolated Merfolk Warrior close, then killed him with a wind blade and took his spear and body.
  • Taylor carried the corpse to a hidden reef cave, lit a Rune Light Bulb, and began dissecting the Merfolk Warrior with an enchanted scalpel.

Ch. 54Plunder

After discovering that the merfolk’s tridents contained valuable Deep Sea Blue Metal, Taylor killed the tribe’s warriors and chieftain and took control of the reef. He ordered the surviving merfolk to mine the metal for him and planned to build a Magic Mech for Bobby.

  • The chieftain investigated a missing Merfolk Warrior but found only drag marks and blue blood, then sent warriors and hunters to patrol the area.
  • Taylor dissected the Merfolk Warrior and learned about its body and Water Element abilities, while discovering that its trident contained valuable Deep Sea Blue Metal.
  • Taylor decided to plunder the tribe’s metal and killed its Merfolk Warriors over the following days.
  • Taylor killed the chieftain, forcing the surviving merfolk to submit to him.
  • Taylor claimed the tribe’s Deep Sea Blue Metal reserves and ordered the merfolk to mine more while he dealt with nearby sea beasts.
  • Taylor planned to use the first mined metal to build a Magic Mech for Bobby to supervise.

Ch. 55Overseer

Taylor finished extracting deep-blue metal from a small merfolk tribe’s mine, then left with Bobby after paying the tribe with sea-beast corpses. Elsewhere, Krite continued conquering merfolk settlements and headed toward the last large tribe in his assigned region.

  • Bobby oversaw the merfolk miners while Taylor spent more than a week conducting dissection experiments in the chieftain’s coral hut.
  • Taylor emerged covered in blood, cleaned up, collected the remaining deep-blue metal, and learned from Bobby that the mine was nearly exhausted.
  • Taylor killed several sea beasts and left their corpses for the small tribe before departing with Bobby.
  • Krite and his Construct Puppets slaughtered the resistance in another merfolk tribe and forced the survivors to mine deep-blue metal, which he called Merfolk’s Tears.
  • Krite sent puppets to supervise the miners and flew toward the last large merfolk tribe in his region as his golems and Magic Mechs marched after him.

Ch. 56One Year Later

After the wizards conquered the Merfolk Plane and wiped out its leaders, Taylor returned to Krite with great wealth and news of the primitive merfolk kingdom he had built. Kano arrived with a large group of merfolk to surrender, revealing that the rebellion he had planned became pointless when the wizards defeated the merfolk first.

  • The wizards killed the Sea Giant, the four merfolk kings, and the plane’s other high-level fighters, while Kano’s plans to spark an uprising became useless.
  • Kano killed One-Horn, freed the controlled merfolk, and persuaded them to surrender to the wizards by posing as their sage.
  • Krite recalled Taylor, who returned with many Magic Mechs forged from Merfolk’s Tears and described how he had united tribes and helped them build farms and sea-beast facilities.
  • Krite praised Taylor’s work and told him to take charge of any merfolk who came to surrender.
  • Taylor met Kano, who explained that he had brought the merfolk to surrender after discovering the wizards had already conquered the plane.

Ch. 57Departure!

Taylor delegated the Merfolk Kingdom’s resource production to Bobby and Kano before using his improved plane-traveling ability to enter a modern world. He arrived on the island of Mara, also known as Outpost 56, and settled in to explore its food and surroundings.

  • Krite left Taylor in charge of organizing the surrendered Merfolk, and Taylor received a high-capacity Spatial Storage Ring as a reward.
  • Taylor assigned Bobby to supervise resource extraction and gave Kano command of the Puppet Legion and the Merfolk workers.
  • Taylor discovered that his plane-traveling ability let him see through the portal, then opened a passage to a new plane and stepped through.
  • Taylor arrived on Mara, an island identified as Outpost 56, and bought local food, coffee, and newspapers.

Ch. 58Suspected Level-Two Creatures

Taylor realized he had transmigrated into the MonsterVerse during the period before Godzilla 2, with Rodan held beneath the volcano on Mara. Knowing the coming Titan battle could let him obtain Ghidorah’s severed head and its valuable bloodline, he decided to stay and prepare to salvage it.

  • Taylor read a newspaper about Godzilla and Monarch and identified the world as the MonsterVerse between Godzilla 1 and Godzilla 2.
  • Taylor recognized Mara’s restricted volcano as the outpost holding Rodan and assessed the Titan beasts as level-two lifeforms.
  • Taylor concluded the island would soon become a battlefield but chose to remain rather than flee, hoping to salvage valuable Titan remains.
  • Taylor recalled that Godzilla would tear off one of Ghidorah’s heads and decided it could help him acquire Ghidorah’s bloodline and abilities.
  • Taylor considered the Titan beasts valuable sources of bloodlines and knowledge for strengthening himself.

Ch. 59The Self-Righteous Doctor

Taylor decided to obtain Monarch’s ORCA device and prepared to leave the city by speedboat before Rodan’s volcanic ash storm arrived. Meanwhile, Dr. Emma revealed her plan to release the Titans and use ORCA to save the world, facing furious opposition from Monarch’s other doctors.

  • Taylor looked up Dr. Emma’s Monarch profile and condemned her plan to trigger a mass extinction despite abandoning it when her daughter was at risk.
  • Taylor killed two would-be robbers with a gold bar, then used it to buy a stolen speedboat from its frightened owner.
  • Taylor studied the speedboat’s controls and left the dock to find a safer place to moor beyond the city.
  • Dr. Emma told Mark and the other Monarch doctors that she intended to release the Titans, whom she believed could restore Earth’s ecological balance.
  • Mark, Serizawa, and the other doctors denounced Dr. Emma’s plan as reckless and self-righteous, while she insisted humanity could not escape what was coming.

Ch. 60Rodan Breaks Free

Dr. Emma activated ORCA despite Madison’s pleas, awakening Rodan beneath Isla de Mara’s volcano and triggering a chaotic evacuation. Rodan broke through the volcano’s metal seal and began crawling out of the magma.

  • Dr. Stanton traced Dr. Emma’s weak signal to a satellite transmission from an unknown bunker, while Outpost 56 lost control of its systems.
  • An old man confronted Dr. Emma and Madison, and Madison realized their plan endangered innocent people.
  • Dr. Emma activated ORCA after the old man and his subordinates warned that they were out of time.
  • The military evacuated Isla de Mara as panic and stampedes spread among the residents.
  • ORCA’s sound awakened Rodan, who blasted through the volcano’s metal plates and emerged through magma and ash.
