Background

Sen is a war orphan whose parents died during the Third Shinobi World War. As a surviving peripheral member of the Senju Clan, he grows up in a Konoha orphanage with Ishikawa as his roommate. Initially sickly and determined to survive unnoticed, he views his diluted Senju lineage as a liability that could attract people interested in the First’s cells. 1 5

Sen tries to appear untalented despite chakra reserves comparable to a chunin’s. His façade is repeatedly compromised by his chakra leakage, Wood Clone Technique, physical strength, perfect theory score, and frightening pressure during combat assessments. 4 5 15 17 18

Root Conflict

After exposing his Wood Release through the creation of an orchard, Sen becomes a target for Danzo’s Root. He kills several assassination teams, drains their life force to level up, and sends Danzo a direct warning through a Wood Clone infiltrating Root headquarters. 8 10 12 13 27 28

The conflict later resumes when Danzo continues sending operatives. After absorbing more than a hundred attackers, Sen decides to destroy Root directly, but Jiraiya stops him and proposes bringing Tsunade back as a political alternative. Sen accepts partly because the journey offers escape from village scheming and avoids damage to buildings for which he expects payment. 147 148
