Background

Ling Xiao was a blind orphan in his previous life. After learning braille, Douluo Continent became the first novel he could read; he later died after being accidentally electrocuted while wishing he could visit that world himself. 1

He reincarnated in the Extreme North as a weak infant surrounded by violet lightning. Snow Emperor discovered him at the bottom of an ice pit, recognized him as an innate lightning spirit akin to her own innate ice nature, and adopted him after he called her “Mom.” She gave him the name Ling Xiao, meaning to soar through the nine heavens like heavenly lightning. 1 2

His inherited memories identified his true origin as an Innate Chaos Thunder Spirit. They also revealed that he could feed on heavenly lightning, summon Divine Lightning of the Nine Heavens, and potentially break the heavenly tribulation shackles suppressing soul beasts. 3 7

He is observant and strategic, recognizing threats such as the Sun-Moon Empire soul engineer and planning to strengthen the Extreme North against outside soul beast factions.
