Background / History

The Queen Medusa lived in the hidden basin of the Icefire Yin-Yang Well in Sunset Forest. A fifty-thousand-year serpent Soul Beast, it guarded the treasure ground amid poisonous mist and a population of venomous Soul Beasts. Li Long identified it from its dark-golden scales, amber vertical pupils, cultivation, and location. 53

When Li Long and Qian Yaoting entered the basin, the Queen Medusa initially observed them rather than attacking. It then summoned nearby poisonous Soul Beasts to test them before personally using its Petrifying Ray. The ray partially struck Qian Yaoting's clothing and petrified an ancient tree, forcing the pair to withdraw. 54

Qian Shengyuan later returned with Li Long and Qian Yaoting. He wore the Queen Medusa down without damaging the Icefire Yin-Yang Well or its herbs, then trapped it inside a golden light barrier. Rather than kill such a rare Soul Beast, he intended to preserve it for Spirit Hall's future use. 55 56

Li Long instead proposed sealing the Queen Medusa into his Iron Rod Martial Soul. Long Yuan taught him the Coiling Dragon Clan's Sealing Method, extracting the Queen Medusa's spirit and soul from its body and binding it within the rod. Though it resisted fiercely, Li Long guided its power into the prepared Soul Power channels until it settled into dormancy. 58 59

On the third day after the sealing, Li Long entered the Iron Rod's inner space to communicate with the Queen Medusa. Although it had not fully awakened, its consciousness could perceive his presence. He offered it an opportunity to evolve into a dragon before consuming the Aromatic Silk Beauty. 60

After Li Long consumed the Aromatic Silk Beauty, its medicinal power entered the Iron Rod and catalyzed the sealed spirit's evolution. Following seven days of synchronization, the Queen Medusa crossed the gap between serpent and dragon, awakening as the Dragon Emperor Medusa. Its consciousness was calm and cooperative upon awakening, forming a partnership with Li Long rather than resisting him. 60 61

Li Long subsequently consumed Full Moon Wearing Autumn Dew, roughly doubling his mental power and making his connection with the Dragon Emperor Medusa more precise. He could clearly sense its breathing and the subtle energy fluctuations across its scales. This improved mental foundation helped him control the evolved Martial Soul and its delicate temporal-spatial abilities. 62

The Dragon Emperor Medusa helped locate and kill a fifteen-thousand-year Darkgolden Terrorclaw Bear, making its first manifested combat appearance. During Li Long's subsequent cultivation at the Icefire Yin-Yang Well, he used the hot spring's aura to nourish its vitality and deepen their coordination. Its domains also helped him counter Qian Yaoting's aerial mobility during sparring. 63 65

After undergoing Icefire Body Tempering, Li Long sensed a powerful presence beneath the springs. The Dragon Emperor Medusa recognized an aura sharing its draconic origin but vastly exceeding its own strength, and warned him of the danger. During their descent, its vigilance increased, and its senses helped confirm that the enormous remains below belonged to an ancient dragon. 81 82

The remnant souls of the Ice Dragon King and Fire Dragon King offered to merge their remaining energy into the Dragon Emperor Rod and the Dragon Emperor Medusa. They explained that this would transform it into a Divine Dragon soul with ultimate ice and fire powers, while elevating its existing domains toward basic laws beyond the mortal realm. In exchange, Li Long promised to protect the Soul Beast Clan from extinction and help it rise when he became sufficiently powerful. The agreement did not require him to end all human–Soul Beast conflict or abandon soul-ring cultivation. 83

After Li Long absorbed the dragon bone, the two remnant souls completed their fusion with the Dragon Emperor Medusa. It willingly accepted their energies after recognizing their shared, superior dragon origins. Its body developed further draconic features before contracting into a dark-golden egg covered in crimson and icy-blue patterns. Its consciousness entered deep sleep, and Li Long temporarily lost access to its three domains and combat support. The Dragon Kings estimated a hatching period of one to three years, but could not determine the exact timing. Their remnant souls disappeared permanently after the fusion. 85

Li Long continued monitoring the dormant egg while cultivating and supervising Qian Yao and Qian Yue's advancement at the Icefire Yin-Yang Well. Its ice-and-fire patterns gradually became clearer, and its aura grew increasingly stable and substantial. 86 94 95

The egg later hatched into the juvenile Icefire Dragon Emperor. The newly born Divine Dragon soul possessed Ultimate Ice and Ultimate Fire and inherited transformed versions of Medusa's venom, time, and Petrification domains. It entered a period of rapid growth and continued becoming more stable and powerful alongside Li Long's cultivation. 103 118

The Icefire Dragon Emperor assisted Li Long in killing the weakened Titan Giant Ape and supported his consciousness during the absorption of its hundred-thousand-year soul ring. It later served as a spiritual anchor during his absorption of the Sky Azure Bull Python's soul ring. Following his ninth soul-ring absorption, its spirit became more solid and its Time Domain improved slightly. 121 128 132

Appearance

Queen Medusa

The Queen Medusa was an enormous serpent with a broad head, dark-golden scales, and amber vertical pupils. Its main body remained coiled in the shadows near the Icefire Yin-Yang Well. 53

• Fine dark-golden scales covered its body; its belly scales were lighter and translucent like amber. 55

Dragon Emperor Medusa

Following its evolution, the Dragon Emperor Medusa became substantially larger and more imposing than its former serpentine spirit form. 61

• Has heavier, ordered dark-golden armored scales edged in faint gold. 61
• Its tail ends in streamlined, blade-like bone spurs. 61

Icefire Fusion and Dragon Egg

During its fusion with the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings' remnant souls, its body lengthened, its horns grew, and its claws became more distinct. Crimson flame patterns and icy-blue frost patterns spread and intertwined across its dark-golden scales, while its tail spurs became sharper and more refined. 85

• Its transformed body contracted into a circular shape before an enclosing layer of crimson-blue light solidified into an eggshell. 85

Icefire Dragon Emperor

After hatching, the Icefire Dragon Emperor possessed a more slender and powerful body than its previous draconic form. Its semi-transparent spirit body radiated intertwined ice and fire from within. 103

• Its dragon head has a clearer, more majestic outline, with a golden forehead horn curving backward. 103

Personality

The Queen Medusa was intelligent, cautious, and highly territorial. Rather than immediately confront Li Long and Qian Yaoting, it remained hidden, observed their capabilities, and sent lesser poisonous Soul Beasts to probe them first. 53 54

It showed clear wariness when confronted by Qian Shengyuan, recognizing the threat posed by a Super Douluo. After repeated failed attempts to breach his barrier, it ceased struggling and accepted its confinement. 55 56

As the Dragon Emperor Medusa, its consciousness becomes calm and cooperative toward Li Long. It responds to his spiritual connection, aids him in combat, and acts in coordination with his attacks. 61 63 74

Its responses are often conveyed through changes in consciousness and aura rather than spoken dialogue. When Li Long established contact after Qian Yaoting departed for his divine trials, it acknowledged his familiar presence with a faint response and circulation of its aura. 69

Despite its strength, it remained capable of recognizing overwhelming danger. The ancient presence beneath the Icefire Yin-Yang Well provoked unusual gravity and vigilance, and it clearly warned Li Long that the power below exceeded anything it could currently handle. It nevertheless accepted the Dragon Kings' remnant energies willingly after recognizing their shared origin. 81 82 85

Abilities & Skills

Its three original domains became temporarily unavailable while it incubated within the Dragon Emperor Rod. After hatching as the Icefire Dragon Emperor, it regained its inherited domain system in qualitatively transformed form. 85 103

Petrifying Ray

The Queen Medusa's signature ocular attack fires a grayish-white beam that petrifies whatever it strikes.
