Background / History

The Medusa Queen lived in the hidden basin of the Icefire Yin-Yang Well in Sunset Forest. A fifty-thousand-year serpent Soul Beast, it guarded the treasure ground amid poisonous mist and a population of venomous Soul Beasts. Li Long identified it from its dark-golden scales, amber vertical pupils, cultivation, and location. 53

When Li Long and Qian Yaoting entered the basin, the Medusa Queen initially observed them rather than attacking. It then summoned nearby poisonous Soul Beasts to test them before personally using its Petrifying Ray. The ray partially struck Qian Yaoting's clothing and petrified an ancient tree, forcing the pair to withdraw. 54

Qian Shengyuan later returned with Li Long and Qian Yaoting. He wore the Medusa Queen down without damaging the Icefire Yin-Yang Well or its herbs, then trapped it inside a golden light barrier. Rather than kill such a rare Soul Beast, he intended to preserve it for Spirit Hall's future use. 55 56

Li Long instead proposed sealing the Medusa Queen into his Iron Rod Martial Soul. Long Yuan taught him the Coiling Dragon Clan's Sealing Method, extracting the Medusa Queen's spirit and soul from its body and binding it within the rod. Though it resisted fiercely, Li Long guided its power into the prepared Soul Power channels until it settled into dormancy. 58 59

After Li Long consumed the Aromatic Silk Beauty, its medicinal power entered the Iron Rod and catalyzed the sealed spirit's evolution. Following seven days of synchronization, the Medusa Queen crossed the gap between serpent and dragon, awakening as the Medusa Dragon Emperor. Its consciousness was calm and cooperative upon awakening, forming a partnership with Li Long rather than resisting him. 60 61

The Medusa Queen was an enormous serpent with a broad head, dark-golden scales, and amber vertical pupils. Its main body remained coiled in the shadows near the Icefire Yin-Yang Well. 53

The Medusa Queen was intelligent, cautious, and highly territorial. Rather than immediately confront Li Long and Qian Yaoting, it remained hidden, observed their capabilities, and sent lesser poisonous Soul Beasts to probe them first. 53 54

It showed clear wariness when confronted by Qian Shengyuan, recognizing the threat posed by a Super Douluo. After repeated failed attempts to breach his barrier, it ceased struggling and accepted its confinement. 55 56

As the Medusa Dragon Emperor, its consciousness becomes calm and cooperative toward Li Long. It responds to his spiritual connection, aids him in combat, and acts in coordination with his attacks. 61 63 74
