| Mid-stage Quasi-Sage / mid-stage Primordial Origin Golden Immortal | 124 | Has severed his Good and Evil Corpses. Refining the Investiture of the Gods List steadily increases his cultivation through comprehension of Heavenly Dao authority. |
| Further cultivation increase; realm unchanged | 211 | Receives merit from Pangu’s funeral, advancing his cultivation without a stated realm breakthrough. |
| Late-stage Primordial Origin Golden Immortal | 232 | Breaks through during the Ten Thousand Demon Assembly as accumulated merit, Heavenly Court fortune, the list’s investiture power, and Primordial Violet Qi converge in his primordial spirit. |
| Sub-Sage; all Three Corpses severed | 259 | Uses the Creation Jade Disc fragment to sever his Corpse of Obsession. The text also identifies complete Three-Corpse severance as Late Quasi-Saint within Hong Jun’s system. Unfulfilled Supreme Pure Yang duties prevent their reunification. |

Appearance
Di Jun commonly appears in imperial robes, with golden hair and golden eyes 113 225 232.
- Imperial attire: Golden ceremonial or imperial robes and a Solar Crown; later wears black-and-gold imperial robes 232 260 292.
- Brow mark: Bears a Sun Mark. Before its extraction, Primordial Violet Qi also manifests as a purple-gold mark between his brows 259 264 281.
- Divine manifestations: Golden Solar True Fire and an enormous Three-legged Golden Crow phantom; his Sage radiance is crimson-gold 113 270.
Personality
Di Jun’s longstanding ambition is to establish the Heavenly Court, unify the Primordial World, and reign over all beneath heaven. He recognizes that Hong Jun is using him to counterbalance the Witch Clan, but initially believes his own ability can overcome that arrangement 114.
His early attitude toward the Witch Clan is contemptuous. He resents its Great Dao blessings and dismisses its members as brutes whose lack of primordial spirits will limit their future. Repeated setbacks force him to acknowledge Pan Xuan’s foresight and the Divine Dao’s institutional advantages 52 60 138 221.
Despite his pride, Di Jun can exercise restraint and revise his approach. He stops Taiyi from attacking Minghe after a rejected invitation, orders his forces not to provoke the Divine Dao, and accepts Baize’s criticism that he must approach the Lords of Taiyin as an equal rather than a conqueror 125 165 259.
His willingness to put the Primordial World before factional rivalry becomes central to his later decisions. He enters Pangu Hall despite his followers’ objections, sacrifices magical power to regain independence, and relinquishes the Thirty-Three Heavens to preserve cooperation against Chaos 275 281 284.
Abilities & Skills
Supreme Pure Yang Dao and Solar True Fire
Di Jun is born with command over the Sun’s power and the status of Supreme Pure Yang. His Dao encompasses illuminating the Primordial World, governing the Sun Star, and ruling the Demon Clan 113 259 264.
- Solar True Fire: Manifests golden flames and uses them to secure his cultivation chamber 113 259.
- Pure Yang Law: Condenses immense law-formed suns, including nine simultaneous suns during his battle with the Pangu True Body Phantom 270 271.
- Divine duty: Must unite supreme yang with supreme yin to further the world’s Yin-Yang Law. Neglecting this obligation blocks his attainment of Sagehood 259.
- Limit in Chaos: Before the Primordial Violet Qi exchange, leaving the Primordial World cuts off direct Heavenly Dao reinforcement. His Sage reserves remain immense but finite 271.
Zhoutian Star Dou Great Array
Di Jun derives the Heavenly Court’s protective formation through the River Diagram and Luo Book. It channels the power of the 365 Zhoutian Primary Stars 138 147 157.
- Suppression: Buffers and gradually quiets the Chaos Bell when it responds to Pangu’s summons, rather than directly opposing Pangu’s power 157.
- Offense: Releases concentrated stellar attacks and pillars of starlight against Chaos creatures 314.
- Defense: Forms a starlight barrier capable of blocking an attack from Odin’s spear 333.
- Resistance to terror: Di Jun marshals stellar power to dispel Hastur’s influence 314.
- Limit: The merged Demon Lord devours and redirects an attack described as powerful enough to crush a great thousandfold world 315.
Deduction and Yin-Yang Law
Di Jun uses the River Diagram and Luo Book for law comprehension, strategic analysis, and combat 128 138 180.
- Deduction: Develops formations and analyzes the Three Pure Ones’ cultivation teachings alongside Hong Jun’s Immortal Dao 138 180.
- Karmic investigation: The treasures trace his unresolved duty as Supreme Pure Yang when his final breakthrough stalls 259.
- Restraint and protection: Produces a vast Yin-Yang net, defensive shields, and a protective covering for retreat 128 131.
Three-Corpse Cultivation
Di Jun follows Hong Jun’s Immortal Dao while incorporating the method of severing the Seven Emotions and Six Desires 232 251.
- Good Corpse: Embodies benevolence toward his demon subjects and the desire to protect them 264.
- Evil Corpse: Embodies murderous resolve against enemies 264.
- Corpse of Obsession: Embodies his fixation on attaining Sagehood 264.
- Reunification: Uses Supreme Pure Yang to reconcile these conflicting aspects into a complete primordial spirit. Forced fusion would risk spiritual collapse 264.
Investiture and Governance
As holder of the Investiture of the Gods List, Di Jun appoints divine officials and builds a Heavenly Dao-linked system of government 114 232.
- Spiritual preservation: Recorded True Spirits can survive bodily destruction and be remade as gods 114.
- Binding authority: Those recorded are also bound to the list’s holder, making its protection a source of control 114.
- Recruitment policy: Offers divine offices to elders with exhausted cultivation potential while keeping promising younger cultivators off the list 231.
- Military administration: Delegates recruitment and operations to Taiyi and Kunpeng while directing formation drills and cultivation programs 138 180 231.
Equipment & Items
- River Diagram and Luo Book — Companion Innate Spiritual Treasures nurtured with him on the Sun Star. The River Diagram governs yin and the Luo Book governs yang; together they support deduction, formations, attack, and defense 128 138.
- Investiture of the Gods List — Heavenly Dao treasure bestowed by Hong Jun to establish the Heavenly Court. Di Jun eventually frees every bound True Spirit and returns the blank list to the Heavenly Dao Origin 114 303.
- Primordial Violet Qi — Bestowed by Hong Jun as a foundation for Sagehood. Its hidden restrictions connect Di Jun to Hong Jun until Pan Xuan extracts it and binds it to a ruined Divine Domain 113 277 281.
- Creation Jade Disc fragment — A fingernail-sized fragment secretly supplied by Hong Jun. Its law origins accelerate Di Jun’s severance of obsession and reunification of the Three Corpses 251 259 264.
- Solar Crown — Worn with his golden imperial robes during the Ten Thousand Demon Assembly 232.
History
Origins and Hong Jun’s Patronage
Born on the Sun Star as a Three-legged Golden Crow, Di Jun possesses solar authority and the qualities of a sovereign from birth. Pan Xuan identifies the Ziwei Emperor Star’s gestating essence as something Di Jun would otherwise seize to strengthen his imperial authority; this is a projected course of events, not an accomplished act 74 113.
At Zixiao Palace, Hong Jun grants Di Jun Primordial Violet Qi and the Investiture of the Gods List, authorizing him to govern the myriad demons and establish order. Di Jun addresses him as “Master,” although Hong Jun does not formally accept him as a disciple 113 114.
Di Jun understands that Hong Jun also empowers the King Father of the East and West Queen Mother to restrain the future Heavenly Court. He nevertheless accepts the arrangement as the foundation for realizing his ambitions 114.
Building the Heavenly Court
Returning to the Sun Star, Di Jun refines the list and begins organizing the starry sky. Most star divinities submit through divine appointments or Great Dao oaths, but Changxi, Xihe, and Minghe refuse his invitations. He prevents Taiyi from escalating Minghe’s refusal into violence 124 125.
The brothers recruit Kunpeng as Military Strategist and attempt to secure the Phoenix Clan before Pan Xuan. Their confrontation with Pan Xuan at the Undying Volcano ends in retreat when all Twelve Ancestral Witches arrive 127 128 131.
Di Jun subsequently focuses on deriving the Zhoutian Star Dou Great Array while Taiyi and Kunpeng recruit powerful spirits and scattered races. He formally establishes the Demon Clan and Heavenly Court with the Sun Star as their foundation 138 139.
Rivalry with the Divine Dao
As the Divine Dao expands, Di Jun combines military preparation with restraint. He orders intensified cultivation and formation drills, seeks cooperation with the unaffiliated cultivator leadership, and threatens execution for anyone who independently provokes the Witch Clan or Divine Dao 165.
He also studies rival teachings rather than rejecting them outright. He directs his officers to examine the Three Pure Ones’ methods—particularly Tongtian’s Dao of Gathering Life—while retaining Hong Jun’s Immortal Dao as their foundation 180.
The Heavenly Court attends Pangu’s funeral with offerings of solar divine crystal, Zhou Tian Star Origin, and moonlight essence. Although Di Jun gains merit, the appearance of 365 Star Witches possessing complete primordial spirits deepens his concern about the Divine Dao’s growing strength 205 211.
After the Earthly Dao emerges, Hong Jun advises him to unify the demons, master stellar authority, and build an enduring system of order. Di Jun implements the Ten Thousand Demon Assembly, combining divine appointments, a martial tournament, and an array demonstration; the assembly also triggers his late-stage Primordial Origin Golden Immortal breakthrough 224 231 232.
Heavenly Marriage and Sagehood
Hong Jun supplies the Creation Jade Disc fragment to hasten Di Jun’s advancement. Di Jun enters seclusion and severs his final corpse, but his treasures reveal that neglected Supreme Pure Yang duties prevent the Three Corpses from reuniting 251 259.
Accepting Baize’s advice, he changes his approach to the Lords of Taiyin. His subsequent marriage to Changxi becomes the Primordial World’s first Heavenly Marriage, witnessed by Nuwa through the Red Embroidered Ball and inscribed into Heavenly Dao law 259 262.
Changxi returns to Guanghan Palace afterward and avoids Heavenly Court affairs; Di Jun respects her decision. He resumes seclusion and completes Three Corpses Unite, becoming the first Sage to attain the Dao through Primordial Violet Qi. His breakthrough also allows Hong Jun’s will to expand within the Heavenly Dao 264 266.
From Rivalry to Alliance
The contest for the Thirty-Three Heavens brings Di Jun into battle against the Pangu True Body Phantom in Chaos. His early advantage diminishes without Heavenly Dao reinforcement, and the battle becomes evenly matched 270 271.
When both sides detect foreign observers, Di Jun and Taiqing Laozi covertly coordinate a trap. They feign exhaustion, lure Amenominakanushi into attacking, then jointly wound him and mark his law source for tracking 272 273.
Di Jun accepts Pan Xuan’s invitation to Pangu Hall despite Taiyi’s and Kunpeng’s concerns. Their private discussion leads him to investigate the Primordial Violet Qi and agree to cooperate against Hong Jun and the Chaos powers 275 276 277.
After Amenominakanushi’s destruction, Pan Xuan exchanges Di Jun’s Primordial Violet Qi for the Divine Domain’s essence. Di Jun retains Sagehood while surrendering much of his magical strength, gaining an independent foundation free from Hong Jun’s restrictions 281.
On returning, he publicly yields the Thirty-Three Heavens to the Divine Dao and withdraws the Heavenly Court to the Sun Star. He forbids unauthorized disputes and commits to joint resistance against Chaos 284.
Defense and Counterattack
At Pan Xuan’s request, Di Jun releases the True Spirits bound to the Investiture of the Gods List and returns it to the Heavenly Dao Origin, closing the remaining breach in the Heavenly Dao 303.
He later fights alongside Pan Xuan and Nuwa against five Demon Creatures, using stellar power to suppress a dark-green monster and resist Hastur. Their efforts cannot prevent the creatures from merging into a stronger Demon Lord 314 315.
Before the expedition into Chaos, he agrees to discreetly monitor Haotian and Yaochi for possible contingencies left by Hong Jun, while treating them fairly if innocent. He also celebrates Taiyi’s Sage breakthrough and supports the planned counteroffensive 321 326.
During the campaign, Di Jun battles Odin and ultimately joins Taiyi in killing Zeus inside the Immortal-Slaying Sword Formation. The victorious Sages and armies annihilate the surviving enemy forces and inhabitants of the Divine Domains, seize their treasures, and begin drawing the five captured domains toward the Primordial World 333 342.
