Background / History

Bai He was the chief of the Speed Clan, one of the four single-attribute clans formerly affiliated with the Clear Sky Sect. The clan was financially destitute because of his prideful refusal to serve either Spirit Hall or the empire, forcing him to seek supplies during clan gatherings. 116

When the Defense and Strength Clans entered the Tang Sect, Bai He visited the Defense Clan residence with more than a dozen Speed Clan members, accompanied by his granddaughter Bai Chenxiang. Niu Gao and Tai Tan concealed their ability to support the Speed Clan in order to make Bai He more receptive to Tang Sect recruitment. 116 117

Fang Yuan demonstrated a Fixed-Mounted Soul Cannon shell and challenged Bai He to a race to the Dragon Rising City Lord's Manor and back. Despite receiving a three-breath head start, Bai He was beaten when Fang Yuan returned with the golden pearl first. 118 119 120

After witnessing Fang Yuan's power and receiving the promise of resources for his clan, Bai He pledged the Speed Clan to the Tang Sect. He also entrusted the clan's heirloom, the Crystal Blood Dragon Ginseng, to Fang Yuan. 120

Fang Yuan later brought Bai He to absorb the 150,000-year Evil Eye Tyrant's soul ring and skull bone. The ring's spiritual backlash nearly overwhelmed him, but Fang Yuan's Adaptation Gu stabilized the absorption, allowing Bai He to become a Titled Douluo. 143 144

Following the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament, Fang Yuan entrusted Bai He and Dugu Bo with the Tang Sect and Heaven and Earth One Family Great Love Academy while he left Spirit City.
