Power Progression
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Post-exile decline | 322, 919 | Purple Yin Immortal Lord exiled the realm into the endless void before his death. Its foundations were damaged, its heavenly will fell dormant, and its ascended immortals could no longer return to defend it. 322 919 |
| Partial recovery | 669 | After the realm had nearly failed to resist an Outer Realm invasion, Emperor Jiang eradicated most devil-cultivator forbidden lands and cleansed Sha qi and miasma, allowing the realm’s will to recover more than half its strength. 669 |
| Golden age | 1142 | Following the end of the eighty-thousand-year Abyssal Demon Calamity and ten thousand years of recuperation, spiritual-energy density more than doubled. The realm held over 3,000 Primordial Spirit Dao Lords, 36 half-immortals, and seven cultivators prepared for ascension. 1142 |
| Strengthened worldly source | 1150 | Chen Nianzhi refined stellar origin into the realm. Its worldly power rose from being able to suppress a late-stage Immortal Ascension cultivator to potentially suppressing a ninth-level Immortal Ascension cultivator. 1150 |
| Approaching ascension limit | 1152 | A heaven-and-earth formation greatly increased spiritual energy, but the realm’s will warned that it would reach its ascension limit within 300 years and face a calamity. 1152 |
| Concealed re-exile | 1866 | Chen Nianzhi relocated the realm into dimensional void and concealed it to protect it from threats connected to his coming calamity. 1866 |
History
The realm takes its name from Purple Yin Immortal Lord, who was born within it and ultimately rose to become a Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal. During his protection, Purple Yin Realm was a major cultivation world: a peerless genius ascended from it roughly once every ten thousand years, and several immortals emerged from its lineages. 322
Purple Yin Immortal Lord later fell while attempting to advance to the realm of Dao Ancestor Immortal Saints. Before his death, he exiled Purple Yin Realm into the endless void to prevent his enemies from settling accounts with it. The exile protected the realm from immediate pursuit, but also damaged its foundations, isolated it from its ascended immortals, and left its heavenly will dormant during its weakest era. 322 919
Outer Realm Demon Gods eventually discovered the hidden world and sought Purple Yin Immortal Lord’s legacy. They exploited periodic flaws in the realm’s cycle of laws, projected power through the Demon Abyss, corrupted lands and demonic beasts, and weakened the realm’s will through blood sacrifice and pollution. 669
The Calamity Demon God later used the Calamity Demon Abyss to trap Purple Yin Realm, severing it from heaven and earth and preventing ascended cultivators from drawing down guiding immortal light. Its objective was to slowly refine the entire realm into part of its companion treasure while monopolizing Purple Yin Immortal Lord’s inheritance. 924
After the Abyssal Demon Calamity was resolved, the realm entered an exceptional period of recovery. Its restored primordial energy produced a golden age of cultivators, though the simultaneous ascension of too many immortals remained a danger to its world origin and spiritual-energy reserves. 1142
Much later, Chen Nianzhi returned to his ancestral world and ultimately sealed and exiled it again. He altered its Dao coordinates and concealed its aura so that even a Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal attempting divination would struggle to locate it. 1866
Will of Heaven and Earth
Purple Yin Realm possesses a responsive will of heaven and earth capable of communicating with trusted beings and acting for its own preservation.
- It recognized Chen Nianzhi as a child of destiny nurtured by its resources and permitted his true body to re-enter after ten thousand years of recovery. 1142
- It warned Chen Nianzhi that rising spiritual energy would push the realm to its ascension limit, bringing an unavoidable calamity. 1152
- It supported Chen Nianzhi’s decision to relocate and conceal the realm when he prepared to protect it from dangers surrounding his future tribulation. 1866
- Its will weakens when large territories are corrupted by Outer Realm Heavenly Devils and recovers when Sha qi, miasma, and forbidden lands are cleansed. 669
Spiritual Resources
Purple Yin Divine Tree
The Purple Yin Divine Tree is the realm-suppressing acquired Spirit Root and, for a time, the only acquired Spirit Root in Purple Yin Realm. 30
- It blossoms, bears fruit, and ripens over a three-thousand-year cycle. 789
- Its Purple Yin Divine Fruit can help Primordial Spirit cultivators condense a Dao Fruit and raises the chance of becoming a Dao Fruit Immortal by twenty percent. 789
- At its peak, the tree bore three fruits every three thousand years; its fruits contributed greatly to the realm’s nearly two hundred ascended immortals. 1009
- A demonic Dao Lord severed one branch six hundred thousand years ago and forged it into the Purple Yin Demonic Staff. 973 1009
- Eighteen half-immortal patriarchs severed another branch over twenty thousand years ago, refining it into an immortal treasure to survive a great calamity. The damaged tree was left with one intact branch and could yield only one fruit. 1009
- Chen Nianzhi used Primordial Purple Qi to repair the tree’s damaged foundation. 1009
Ancestral Veins
Before its decline, Purple Yin Realm possessed near-Immortal-tier ancestral veins of the five elements as well as ice, wind, and lightning variant veins. 877
- Myriad-Tribulation Thunder Mountain — A lightning ancestral vein and former Eastern Sea holy land; destroyed during an Outer Realm Demon God’s assault. 877 919
- Xunwind Divine Ridge — A wind ancestral vein essential to the realm’s spiritual-qi cycle; shattered into two sections and later obstructed by Demon God Heavenly Pillars. 877 939
- Eternal Glacier — The surviving near-Immortal-tier variant vein, preserved because of its distance from the Demon Abyss. 877
- Eastern Yi-Wood Ancestral Vein and East Sea Water-Origin Ancestral Vein — Former near-Immortal-tier sacred grounds associated with Heaven’s Edge Sea Pavilion. 877
