Background

Qing Ji was one of Jiang Linglong's childhood companions. During an earlier calamity, she covered Jiang Linglong's retreat by withdrawing under Jiang Linglong's name, drawing the demons' attention and disappearing without trace. Her soul lamp later extinguished, leading Jiang Linglong to believe that she had died. 590 631

She survived under the care of her father, Azure Ruins Dao Lord, but became trapped in the Red Dust Dream Butterfly Method. The method stripped away her seven emotions and six desires, leaving her cold, purely rational, and unable to recognize Jiang Linglong when they reunited. Azure Ruins Dao Lord forged a marriage bond between Qing Ji and Chen Nianzhi, entrusting her protection to him before his own fate at the hands of the demon god. 631 632

As the thousand-year threshold of her dream cultivation approached, Qing Ji sank into a deathlike slumber.
