Hua Wei sat on a flat stone, a translucent system display floating before him. The livestream was transmitting the Macragge battlefield in real time.
"Emotion Points +50..."
"Emotion Points +30..."
"Emotion Points +120..."
The system prompts sounded from time to time, but the numbers were all low. The occasional three-digit figure only appeared when a Chaos warrior was headshot by a Spartan sniper, generating [Shock].
Hua Wei sighed and tapped the tabletop with his fingers.
"As expected, Space Marines are too emotionally stable. It's too hard to farm points off them..."
"Is there something wrong with the Emotion Points provided by the Chaos side? Why are they all so low?" Hua Wei looked at the paltry Emotion Points provided by Chaos, puzzled. Shouldn't Chaos have higher Emotion Points?
"Most of their Emotion Points are absorbed by the Warp. Furthermore, because their emotions are singular, the total Emotion Points they generate are relatively low." The system popped up a notification window and generated a pie chart marking the breakdown of Emotion Points.
"What a shame. I thought I'd be able to take off right away."
He opened the system shop and browsed the supplies available for exchange.
[Basic Living Supplies] Purified Water (10L): 10 Emotion Points High-Calorie Military Rations (1-day supply): 20 Emotion Points Simple Shelter: 300 Emotion Points
"Not bad. At least I won't starve to death." He muttered and casually exchanged points for several days' worth of food and water.
The display flickered, and a box of sealed military rations along with several bottles of purified water appeared before him out of thin air.
Hua Wei tore open a pack and took a bite. It tasted like compressed biscuits mixed with synthetic meat—nothing special.
Next, he opened the [Summon Units] interface.
[Summoning Cost] 1-star unit: 100 Emotion Points 2-star unit: 1,000 Emotion Points 3-star unit: 10,000 Emotion Points 4-star unit: 100,000 Emotion Points 5-star unit: 1,000,000 Emotion Points
Hua Wei stared at those numbers, his brow furrowing tighter and tighter.
"Ten thousand Emotion Points just to summon a unit at Space Marine level?" He rubbed his temples. "But the scale of a Warhammer battlefield... Throwing ten thousand Space Marines into it wouldn't even make a splash."
He glanced at his current balance—3,120 Emotion Points.
"So poor..."
With so few Emotion Points, he couldn't even afford a decent combat unit.
He sighed and turned his attention back to the livestream.
On the Macragge battlefield, the Spartans were still fighting, but the situation had begun to change. The Chaos Legion seemed to have taken an interest in these "new enemies" and began shifting more troops against them.
"Tch, the pressure's rising." Hua Wei frowned.
Just then, the livestream screen suddenly shook violently. A dazzling blue light erupted from within the Sanctum and shot into the sky!
—The Stasis Field had shattered.
"Holy shit!" Hua Wei abruptly sat up straight. "It's happening! Guilliman's waking up!"
The Emotion Point notifications suddenly began flooding in!
"Emotion Points +500!" (The Ultramarines' exhilaration)
"Emotion Points +800!" (The Chaos Legion's rage and shock)
"Emotion Points +2000!" (Shock across the entire battlefield)
Hua Wei's eyes widened as he watched his balance instantly soar to 6,400 Emotion Points!
"Good! Give me more! Make it even more shocking!" He couldn't help clenching his fist.
But his smile soon froze as the Emotion Points stopped rising.
"System, what's going on? Explain yourself. Shouldn't Guilliman waking up have caused an Emotion Point explosion?" Hua Wei stomped his foot in frustration.
"Because the host's summoned units did not participate in the event of awakening Guilliman, only this many Emotion Points could be collected!" the system answered coldly.
"FK, if I'd known, I would've summoned them right in front of Guilliman..." Hua Wei felt a stabbing pain in his heart. He'd missed out on a hundred million.
A towering figure stepped out of the Sanctum. His blue-and-gold power armor gleamed amid the flames of war, while the Emperor's holy sword, the Armor of Fate, burned with pure blue fire in his hand.
Before the Chaos Legion warriors could react, the Primarch had already moved.
His movements were so fast they were nearly a blur. The Emperor's holy sword swept across the field, and the bodies of three Death Guard turned to ashes the instant the blade touched them, before they could even scream.
The buzz of Chainaxes and the roar of Bolters were child's play before him.
A Black Legion champion attempted to intercept him. Guilliman merely sidestepped and swung his sword backhanded, sending the champion's head soaring through the air. Before the corrupted blood could hit the ground, it was vaporized by holy flame.
—No one could withstand even a single exchange with him.
Carter immediately gave the order. "Noble Squad, disengage and observe. Record everything!"
The Spartans swiftly withdrew, concealing themselves behind battlefield cover. The scanning systems of their MJOLNIR Armor ran at full capacity, recording Guilliman's every movement.
"Target designation: 'Blue-Armored Giant.' Combat capability exceeds database limits," Jane reported quietly. The rangefinder in her sniper scope flickered wildly. "Speed, strength, reaction time... all completely surpass Spartans."
Guilliman was like a precise killing machine. Wherever he passed, Chaos warriors fell like wheat stalks. His fighting style was efficient, cold, and devoid of wasted motion. Every strike went straight for a vital point.
—This was the true strength of a human Primarch.
Suddenly, golden light filled the sky.
A winged figure flew out from the Sanctum. Her dazzling feathers scattered motes of light, and her holy presence instantly dispelled the surrounding gloom of the Warp.
—Saint Celestine, the Living Saint, the Emperor's messenger.
Her gaze swept across the battlefield before finally settling on the hidden Spartans.
"Those are...?" Her brows drew together slightly.
Unlike other warriors, she could "sense" more.
—The genes of these warriors in strange armor were unimaginably pure. There was no mutation, no corruption; they were even purer than she was.
Are they the true humans? Celestine was shaken.
At the same time, the Spartans were stunned as well.
"Angels?!" Jorge's voice was slightly distorted over the comm channel. "Why are there angels here?!"
In their implanted memories, "angels" were elite combat units of the Hilling Empire's Holy Judgment Legion. Possessing wings and the power of holy light, they were one of the Imperium's symbols.
—But this was clearly not Hilling Empire territory. Why would angels appear here?
Carter quickly calmed down. "Record target 'Winged Individual.' Mark as 'suspected friendly unit.' Do not make contact for now."
Celestine seemed to sense their confusion, and her golden eyes flickered slightly. With a gentle flap of her wings, she slowly descended onto ruins not far from the Spartan Squad.
"Who are you?" Her voice was ethereal and imposing, yet carried a faint trace of barely perceptible curiosity.
The Spartans did not answer. The scanners in their MJOLNIR Armor continued operating, analyzing her energy readings.
"Warning: Target energy level is high, approaching Angel Legion divine warrior standards," the armor AI calmly reported.
Carter took a deep breath, preparing to respond—
Boom!
A deafening explosion interrupted their standoff.
On the distant battlefield, Guilliman had already carved through the Chaos Legion's lines and was returning toward the Sanctum. His gaze swept over Celestine before... settling on the Spartans.
