Background / History
Sen survived the Uchiha Clan massacre alongside Sasuke Uchiha. He is described as a severely mentally ill transmigrator whose memories of the clan are chaotic; he instead believes himself to be an alien warrior infiltrating an enemy planet on behalf of “Blue Star Headquarters.” 1 2
After an accident involving a park bench and a rock, Sen is hospitalized. A system appears to him, diagnosing severe mental illness while granting scans, missions, temporary combat experience, and automatic defensive responses. His sudden defeat of Root agent Aburame Zhiheng draws the attention of both Danzo Shimura and Hiruzen Sarutobi. 1 2
Hiruzen chooses to protect and monitor Sen rather than hand him to Root. To communicate with him, Hiruzen adopts Sen’s imagined code-name framework, posing as “Double-Zero Seven” and assigning missions as though they come from Blue Star Headquarters. 5 6
Tsunade later assesses Sen’s condition as irreversible brain damage, possibly caused by interrogation. She notes that his brain differs from a normal person’s, though medical ninjutsu cannot fully explain the condition. 35 50
Appearance
Sen’s appearance is frequently disheveled and deliberately unconventional, matching the erratic persona he presents to others.
- Often wears a striped bedsheet as an “Invisibility Cloak.” 1 3
- Carries a wooden clog or slipper at his waist and regularly uses slippers in combat. 1 7
- Was seen wearing a white tank top, black shorts, a cloth headband, slippers, one bare foot, and mismatched socks. 6
- His untidy hair can form three stiff spirals at the back of his head. 20
- Wears a Hidden Leaf forehead protector on his left arm after joining the village’s special operations squad. 15
Personality
Sen is intensely theatrical, self-aggrandizing, and detached from the world around him. He frames ordinary events as an interplanetary infiltration mission, calls himself the planet’s bravest warrior, and insists that others address him as “Big Sen.” 1 7
His apparent delusions do not prevent sharp reactions to danger. He can identify threats through the system, improvise in battle, and recognize details such as the condition of Orochimaru’s soul-sealed hands. However, he is also impulsive, easily distracted by food, cartoons, gambling, and perceived insults. 8 31 32
Money and meat are particularly effective incentives. Hiruzen repeatedly uses payment to secure his cooperation, while Sen exploits Orochimaru, Kabuto, Jiraiya, and Zabuza for food or compensation. 6 14 32 42
Despite claiming that Konohagakure is merely foreign territory, Sen values his home and those close to him. He intervenes when Orochimaru threatens the village because its destruction could endanger his residence and compensation, and he supports Naruto’s understanding of leadership. 31 36
Abilities & Skills
System Interface
Sen alone can see a blue system interface that supplies missions, enemy scans, rewards, advice, and emergency combat functions.
- Identifies opponents’ names, ranks, abilities, strength, and danger ratings. 1 8 22
- Grants temporary combat experiences or techniques when danger is detected. 1 7 9
- Can activate abilities automatically, including defensive barriers and Susanoo. 8 38
- Its concealment prevents opponents from sensing Sen’s chakra. 9
- Sen regularly argues with the system aloud, causing others to mistake him for speaking to himself. 8 33
True Eye
The True Eye is Sen’s primary detection ability.
- Detects the Demon Brothers hiding in a puddle. 7
- Ignores Zabuza’s Hidden Mist Technique and reveals his position. 8
- Sees through Danzo’s bandages, exposing Sharingan implanted in his arm and a face embedded in the other. 14
Taijutsu and Slipper Combat
Sen can become overwhelmingly dangerous in close combat, frequently fighting with slippers rather than conventional weapons.
- Defeats Root Chunin Aburame Zhiheng with a single slipper strike while temporarily enhanced. 1
- Overpowers the Demon Brothers during the Land of Waves mission. 7
- Slaps and batters Zabuza after pulling him in with gravitational force. 9
- His lack of visible chakra during combat repeatedly confuses observers. 7 8
Rasengan
Sen possesses an enhanced form of the Rasengan.
- Receives an Ultimate Rasengan trial through the system’s lottery reward. 2
- Uses a massive Rasengan against Mizuki; Hiruzen judges its power to be at least S-rank. 4
- Naruto describes the technique as capable of creating a sphere “as big as a house.” 38
Rinnegan-Based Gravity Techniques
Through temporary Rinnegan experience, Sen can manipulate repulsion and attraction.
- Deflects Zabuza’s Kubikiribōchō with a repulsive barrier. 8
- Blasts Zabuza away with repulsion. 9
- Uses Banshō Ten'in to pull Zabuza back into striking range. 9
Wood Release
Sen can use Wood Release on a scale that alarms Kakashi and Hiruzen.
- Activates Wood Release: Deep Forest Emergence during the battle on the Land of Waves bridge. 12
- Creates a forest from the surrounding river area. 12
- Breaks Haku’s Crystal Ice Mirrors and binds Haku while draining his chakra. 12
- Is considered capable of Wood Release by Hiruzen after Kakashi’s mission report. 14
Mangekyō Sharingan and Susanoo
Sen awakens the Mangekyō Sharingan amid emotional distress and manifests a black Susanoo.
- His initial Susanoo manifestation causes a village-wide evacuation due to its destructive potential. 16
- Uses the semi-complete Susanoo against Tsunade; its activation is automatic when she attacks. 38
- Names the black Susanoo “Black Savior,” which becomes its activation command. 39
- Susanoo strains Sen’s eyes, causing bleeding from the corner of an eye. 39
Space-Time Ocular Techniques
Sen’s left Mangekyō Sharingan grants space-time abilities.
- Near Yet Far—Faraway makes nearby targets seem unreachable, preventing Tsunade from closing the distance. 38
- The Ends of the Earth, Within Arm’s Reach—Ends of the Earth activates when Susanoo reaches its defensive limit. 39
- These techniques allow him to control distance and evade direct attacks, but do not by themselves ensure victory against a stronger opponent. 38
Dragon Slayer Magic
Sen identifies himself as an A-rank Flame Dragon Slayer Mage during the Root pursuit battle.
- Consumes enemy Fire Release instead of being harmed by it. 24
- Uses Fire Dragon’s Saliva and Dragon Slayer Secret Art: Crimson Lotus Exploding Flame Blade. 25
- Defeats three Root operatives, after which Haku kills the incapacitated survivors. 25
Impure World Reincarnation
Sen can summon and control reincarnated dead shinobi.
- Receives a mission reward described as an enhanced form of Edo Tensei capable of reviving the dead with their full strength and free will. 37
- Summons Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju in Tanzaku Town. 41
- Demonstrates control over both reincarnated Hokage. 42
- Hiruzen Sarutobi is later revived and reunited with Hashirama and Tobirama. 48
