- Dou Shengs control rules and the Power of Heaven and Earth, while a Dou Di is believed capable of defining rules to some extent. 6

- The realm's overwhelming superiority is demonstrated when Gu Yuan, a peak cultivator beneath Dou Di, is unable to react to Zhao Li's attack and concludes that those below the realm are effectively powerless before it. 436
Advancement Requirements
| Requirement | Function |
|---|---|
| A trace of World Origin | Provides the necessary connection to the Dou Qi Continent's origin. 281 |
| Emperor's Origin Qi / Origin Qi | Enables a cultivator to connect with Heaven and Earth and advance into the Dou Di realm. 281 416 |
| Comprehension of the Dao | Allows the cultivator to transform borrowed, origin-based power into a personal path. 392 |
The First Emperor originally held complete control over the World Origin and could mobilize the Power of an entire realm, making him effectively invincible within the Dou Qi Continent. 280
Later Dou Di were created through a method devised by the First Emperor: he divided the Plane Embryo into twenty-two parts and used a Great Formation to convert it into Origin Qi. This allowed others to become emperors, though they remained far weaker than the First Emperor. 416
History
Age of the First Emperor
The First Emperor was the first Dou Di and the founder of the path later generations followed. Unable to find peers with whom to exchange insights after mastering the World Origin, he passed down his teachings and created the conditions for an era in which many emperors could coexist. 280 413
His decision to shatter the Plane Embryo and establish the Origin Qi-producing formation was intended to give later cultivators a path to the realm rather than monopolize it himself. 416
Decline of the Emperor's Path
After the ancient wars against the Outer Realm Evil Race, the Dou Qi Continent was sealed by a Great Formation. The disappearance of Origin Qi appears to have occurred after this formation was established, eventually preventing new Dou Di from emerging. 380 383
By the later era, Tou She Ancient God was believed to be the only Dou Di to emerge during the following ten thousand years. His breakthrough exhausted the final wisp of Emperor's Origin on the continent. 379
Ao Xue's awakening confirms that no Dou Di had appeared on the continent for ten thousand years because Origin Qi was missing. 280
Return of the Realm
Zhao Li reached a level beyond traditional Dou Di through the Inner Universe and Innate Qi produced during its creation. This energy replaced Origin Qi and enabled him to become both a Dou Di and a true Heavenly Supreme. 365 416
After Zhao Li's long-term preparations, Xiao Xuan, Xiao Yan, Gu Yuan, Hun Tiandi, and the White-Robed Scholar entered the Ancient Emperor's Cave Dwelling and opened the Heavenly Evolution Grand Formation. Five Dou Di subsequently broke through, while the Dou Qi Continent's energy and rule comprehension increased. 466

Relation to Higher Realms
- A traditional Dou Di is equivalent to a Quasi Heavenly Supreme in the Great Thousand World. 391
- The Heavenly Supreme realm has three grades: Spirit, Immortal, and Saint. 391
- Zhao Li considers Dou Di only one stage on a longer path, rather than the final end of cultivation. 440
- The limitations of traditional Dou Di stem from their dependence on Origin Qi and the Dou Qi Continent's Heaven and Earth; outside that support, they may no longer retain the same status. 392
