Prehistoric: I Am the Six-Eared Macaque, Guiding Tongtian to Enlightenment from the Start

Transported to the primordial world by the Painting of Pangu Opening Heaven, Lu Xuan became the Six-Eared Macaque, one of the Four Spiritual Primates of Chaos.

Laozi and Yuanshi Tianzun established their teachings and attained sagehood one after another. Yet Lu Xuan laughed at them for cutting off their own paths to the Dao-duped so thoroughly that they were still counting the money for the very person who had sold them out.

Unexpectedly, a young Daoist overheard him and asked why he would say such a thing. Was this not the method of Severing the Three Corpses passed down by the Dao Ancestor himself?

Lu Xuan said, "Severing the Three Corpses, my ass! This is clearly attaining the Dao through merit. They never actually mastered the method of Severing the Three Corpses!"

Refusing to accept this, the young Daoist debated the Dao with Lu Xuan for seven days and seven nights. At last, he understood: all three thousand guests of the Purple Firmament Palace had been deceived by Hongjun.

Lu Xuan said, "As a true heir of Pangu, you should attain the Dao through sheer power. Anything less would dishonor your ancestor."

The young Daoist replied, "The Great Dao has withdrawn, and the Heavenly Dao has emerged. The path of attaining the Dao through power is no longer viable."

Lu Xuan said, "Of course it isn't viable for you-you're not one of the Three Pure Ones. They are Pangu's three souls, and the complete inheritance is already within their bloodline."

After another seven days and seven nights, Lu Chen finally made the young Daoist understand just how heaven-defying Pangu's true heirs were.

The young Daoist wished to become sworn brothers with Lu Chen, and Lu Chen did not refuse. The two planted blades of grass as incense and swore an oath before the Great Dao.

The young Daoist declared, "Great Dao above, today I, Tongtian, become sworn brothers with Lu Xuan. May the Great Dao bear witness."

Lu Xuan froze. "You... you're Tongtian? As in Tongtian of Highest Purity...?"
