Background

Lin Xuan was once the Young Prefecture Lord of Sword Pool Prefecture and was regarded as a martial-arts prodigy because of his extraordinary comprehension. However, he could not open his spiritual meridians despite every effort. His lineage consequently stripped him of his title and expelled him from Sword Pool Prefecture. 2

After his expulsion, Lin Xuan became a Sword Slave at the Profound Heaven Sect. Though his cultivation had fallen to the Third Level of Body Tempering, he continued practicing a single inherited sword move every day for three years. This persistence gave him exceptional control, speed, and precision with a sword. 1

While being used by sect disciples to lure away an Azure-Eyed Giant Snake, Lin Xuan stole and swallowed a Fire Lingzhi. During the ensuing battle, the Sword-Shaped Pendant given to him by his father entered his body, absorbed spiritual energy, and became a Glazed-Colored Sword within his dantian.
