Background / History
Creation and early survival
Nuwa created the Human Clan after extensive experimentation, eventually attaining Sagehood through the merit of humanity's creation. Humans were initially frail: they lacked fur, fangs, powerful limbs, and wings, and could not match beasts physically. Their defining strengths were intelligence, observation, and an ability to learn from all things—making fire, clothing themselves, building shelters, and passing knowledge through generations. 64 69
Taiqing later lived repeatedly among human tribes as a mortal to understand their nature. After establishing the Human Teaching, the clan's fortune surged, its early cultivators advanced, and the Three Ancestors of Humanity—Suirenshi, Youchaoshi, and Ziyishi—became central figures in guiding civilization. 69 70
The Ancestral Witches later intermarried with humans to create the Wuren Tribe, establishing a mixed lineage that retained close ties with the Witch Clan. 73
Human Clan Calamity
At the height of the Demon Race's power, the Human Clan was massacred across the Eastern Lands. Their population fell from tens of billions to only several hundred million over roughly a thousand years; demons consumed their flesh and gathered their souls. 102 103
Though vastly outmatched, humans resisted with extreme resolve. Human immortals self-destructed alongside demon opponents, while mortals fought using weapons, stones, and their teeth. Their collective oath—“Humans and demons cannot coexist!”—received Heavenly Dao recognition and convinced Dijun to attempt their total extermination. 103
Several powers preserved Human Clan survivors. The Witch Clan accepted part of humanity and the Wuren Tribe; the Ten-Thousand Mountains and Wuzhuang Temple also sheltered refugees. Zhu Yin opened the Spirit Platform Dharma Realm to those humans able to reach it, eventually protecting more than one hundred million humans there. 102 103
Rise of the Human Path
After the Witch-Demon Calamity, the Human Clan's surviving elites developed rapidly. The Sages Taiqing, Nuwa, and Yuqing favored humanity as Heaven and Earth's future protagonist, causing its fortune to expand. The Kongtong Seal, formed from Primordial Purple Qi at Mount Kongtong, became a supreme treasure connected to the clan's destiny and capable of condensing Human Path offices. 121
Fuxi's reincarnation as a human initiated the era of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors. Under his leadership, humanity developed fishing nets, marriage customs, writing, music, and a calendar. Shennong subsequently advanced agriculture, the five grains, herbs, cooking, brewing, housing, pottery, and the early martial path. 121 128
Xuanyuan unified the Human Clan, expanded its territory, strengthened its military, established the Three Cardinal Guides and Five Constant Virtues, and organized the Nine Provinces. Cangjie later created Human Clan characters and founded the literary path, allowing civilization and cultivation methods to be transmitted through writing. 131 132 134
Human Path Era
Yu the Great controlled the floods, forged the Martial Dao Grand Unity Realm and Literary Dao Grand Unity Path, then created the Nine Cauldrons Array to protect the Nine Provinces. His abdication concluded the Five Emperors era and marked the beginning of the Human Path Era. 143 146 147
By this point, the Human Clan had accumulated millions of high-level cultivators, ten million elite soldiers, numerous Human Clan sages, and enough Quasi-Sages to force the former hegemonic races to acknowledge humanity's supremacy. 147 148
Qi's seizure of power from Boyi ended the abdication system and established the Great Xia Dynasty. The Human Clan sovereign thereafter became the Human King, protected by Human Path fortune and regarded as equal in status to the Heavenly Emperor. 151

- Human Clan fortune is strengthened by unity; Zhu Yin attributes their extraordinary rise partly to their lack of regional fragmentation. 149
