No sooner had Dumbledore finished speaking than Lockhart pushed the door open and walked in.

"Oh, Dumbledore—aha, and Kane, and... this lovely little witch. We've met before. You smashed my front door with a hammer." Lockhart greeted the three people in the office, then spotted Harry and Ron sleeping soundly in the corner.

"These two are...?"

"Not important." Kane casually used magic to nudge Harry and Ron toward Dumbledore's bedroom.

Hiss...

Lockhart seemed to understand why Kane was so favored by Dumbledore... No way? Dumbledore couldn't possibly be that kind of person. How strange. Better keep looking...

And so, Lockhart stared at Dumbledore with an appraising look. Dumbledore said helplessly, "It's not what you think."

After saying that, Dumbledore looked at Kane again. "We'll discuss this in detail tonight, Kane. Professor Lockhart and I have something to talk about now. Please take Mr. Potter and Mr. Weasley with you as well."

Kane nodded. He and Hermione each used magic to carry one of the two brothers in misfortune as they prepared to leave Dumbledore's office, but Lockhart suddenly called out to Kane.

"Kane, could you wait for me in my office? Here's the key. There are snacks in the cabinet." Lockhart handed Kane a small antique key, then added, "Just you."

Hermione shrugged. There was no need to say that specifically, was there? It wasn't as though she was the sort to force herself into things.

After leaving the Headmaster's Office tower, Kane and Hermione stuffed the two unfortunate brothers, Harry and Ron, into the Hospital Wing.

Madam Pomfrey stared in shock at the two brothers, who had moved into the Hospital Wing before the school term had even officially begun, and shook her head helplessly.

The Hospital Wing had its own mysterious rules. Basically, the later it opened in
