The final rank consisted of third-rate Innate Fiendgods, numbering seven thousand two hundred in total. Though they were the most numerous among all Innate Fiendgods, that did not mean those ranked as third-rate Innate Fiendgods should be underestimated. Their talents were merely somewhat inferior to those of the first three ranks, but compared to the aptitudes of other living beings in the Primordial Wilderness, they were vastly superior. Beyond those three clans, there were also the formidable hundred races, before whom even the three clans had to yield somewhat. This era had no Sages, but even if it did, they would still have to remain obediently within their own territory and not act too arrogantly. Otherwise, they might be jointly wiped out by the Primordial Wilderness's hundred races at any time. A Sage's immortality was only relative, and boundless magical power was likewise relative. Sages merely borrowed the power of the Heavenly Dao. Once they provoked the united hundred races of the Primordial Wilderness, even the Heavenly Dao would have to retreat, much less the Sages beneath it. Without the support of the Heavenly Dao's power, an event of slaughtering a Sage might truly occur. It should be noted that during the Dragon-Phoenix Tribulation, the Heavenly Dao seemed to be hidden away while the Great Dao temporarily took charge. Innate Fiendgods of the same rank merely had aptitudes and talents that stood roughly on the same level. It did not mean their future accomplishments would be identical, because everyone's opportunities, fortune, and personal effort differed. Thus, their eventual achievements differed as well.

Take Dao Ancestor Hongjun and Demon Ancestor Luohou, who both belonged to the ranks of top-tier Innate Fiendgods. By a fortunate chance, Dao Ancestor Hongjun obtained part of the Creation Jade Disc and ultimately attained the Dao and became a Sage. Demon Ancestor Luohou, on the other hand, had it rather miserably, ending up dead with his Dao extinguished. That was the difference in opportunity. Likewise, although the Three Pure Ones, the Two Sages of the West, and Nuwa were all obscure during the Dragon-Han Primordial Tribulation, each of them ultimately attained the Dao and became a Sage. As for the other top-tier Innate Fiendgods, though they shook the Primordial Wilderness for an entire calamity, in the end they either died, were suppressed, or vanished. Do not blame the Heavenly Dao's schemes; that was merely the talk of those who blamed heaven and others. Was there not a reason within themselves?

Top-tier Innate Fiendgods all had a chance to become Sages, and only they possessed that qualification. Unfortunately, the Dragon-Han Primordial Tribulation left fewer than one in ten top-tier Innate Fiendgods alive. As a result, at most nine people in the Primordial Wilderness possessed the qualifications to contend for the throne of Sage. All of this could not help but make one sigh. At times, each person's opportunities and fortune truly were different, but what should be fought for still had to be fought for.

Yuan Tian had not never encountered Innate Fiendgods before. He had seen two of them: the Zenith Heaven Loose Immortal expert from the White Tiger Clan and that expert from the Explosive Bear Clan.
