Xie Xie begins as a Class One student at Eastsea Academy. During the class’s combat assessment, he challenges Chen An after seeing the latter defeat another student. Confident in his speed, Xie Xie uses Light-Shadow Instant Kill, but Chen An tracks him through his martial-soul aura and defeats him with the disruptive Ripple released through a Thousandfold-Forged Sunken Silver Hammer. 21 23

The defeat does not discourage him. Over the following three months, Xie Xie challenges Chen An dozens of times, treating every loss as an opportunity to expose his weaknesses and improve. 33

After Class Zero is established following the Class Advancement Tournament, Xie Xie is selected alongside Chen An, Tang Wulin, and Gu Yue; he remains in the class after Zhang Yangzi, Wang Jinxi, and Wei Xiaofeng withdraw. 45

Xie Xie challenges Chen An as a Level 18 agility-attack Soul Master, attempting to defeat him with speed and Light-Shadow Instant Kill. Chen An catches his wrist, detects his movements through dragon-like aura, and wins by disrupting his soul power with Ripple. 23

He watches Chen An’s subsequent victories over Wang Jinxi, Zhang Yangzi, and Wei Xiaofeng with lingering defiance, hoping someone will defeat the opponent who humiliated him. 24

Repeated Sparring and Friendship

Over several months, Xie Xie challenges Chen An dozens of times without winning. Rather than giving up, he frames the defeats as training and seeks to identify the flaws in his own ambushes and attacks. 33

Spirit Ascension Platform

In the Junior Spirit Ascension Platform, Xie Xie accidentally stands on a Crimson Demon Tree and is chased by the social plant-type Soul Beasts. 49

After escaping, he encounters a Millennium Crystal Bear and is forced to flee. Chen An restrains the Soul Beast while Tang Wulin kills it with her Golden Dragon Claw, saving Xie Xie. 50
