Confident in his speed, Xie Xie uses Light-Shadow Instant Kill, but Chen An tracks him through his martial-soul aura and defeats him with the disruptive Ripple released through a Thousandfold-Forged Sunken Silver Hammer. 21 23

The defeat does not discourage him. Over the following three months, Xie Xie challenges Chen An dozens of times, treating every loss as an opportunity to expose his weaknesses and improve. 33

He remains concealed with the other teammates as Chen An confronts an opposing squad, initially worrying about the presence of a genuine Three-Ring Soul Elder. Upon finding Chen An safe, Xie Xie repeatedly teases him about whether he spent the night with a girl. He does not learn that Chen An had secretly gone into the sea for a breakthrough. 95
