Background / History
Gu Yue originated from Gu Yuena’s division into two incarnations after the latter, grievously wounded by the God Realm, adopted human form to rebuild the soul beasts’ foundations. Gu Yue and Na'er inherited differing personalities; while Gu Yue remained asleep in Star Dou, Na'er left alone for the human world. 2
Upon awakening, Gu Yue assumed command of the Star Dou ferocious beasts and accelerated their long-term infiltration of humanity. She planned to enter society as a human student, penetrate the Federation and Spirit Pagoda, and learn humanity’s ways from within. She assigned Chen An to locate and monitor Tang Wulin, the Golden Dragon King’s incarnation, with Demon Spirit serving as his covert contact. 10
After reaching Eastsea Academy, Gu Yue continued supervising Chen An while maintaining the appearance of an ordinary student. She tested his stated cultivation, reprimanded his unauthorized time with Na'er, and ordered him to remain available for future assignments. 27 28
Her planned infiltration of the Spirit Pagoda developed into an actual organizational affiliation. After the Hero Hall assessment, she declined membership in the Tang Sect because the Spirit Pagoda did not allow her to join another organization. She later revealed that she had become the disciple of a Spirit Pagoda vice tower master and that both her infiltration and Na'er’s progress were proceeding smoothly. 66 81
When Bi Ji encountered Holy Spirit Cult representatives offering cooperation and resources to revive the soul beast race, Gu Yue rejected the proposed alliance. She distrusted the Evil Soul Masters’ intentions and explicitly warned Chen An against becoming involved with them. 81
Appearance
Gu Yue is a slender, delicate-looking girl whose cold bearing contrasts with the authority she holds over the soul beasts. In human society, she wears an academy uniform and keeps strangers at a distance through her aloof manner. 10 53
- Black hair and violet eyes while presiding over the Star Dou beasts 10
- Black bangs and a high ponytail at Eastsea Academy 27
- A cool, measured expression and chilling aura that discourage casual approaches 31
- Elegant, composed table manners even when eating street food 42
- Long hair worn loose after bathing, a fair neck, and soft, loose pink pajamas during a private hotel-room meeting with Chen An 103
Personality
Gu Yue is observant, suspicious, and highly controlling. She scrutinizes Chen An’s unusual Dragon Scale mutation and cultivation growth, accepting only explanations she cannot disprove while making clear that she expects disclosure of changes that could affect the soul beasts’ plan. 10 43
Her outward coldness masks curiosity about human life. Na'er's advice and Tang Wulin’s devotion to Chen An lead Gu Yue to reconsider humanity’s capacity for mutual support. She consequently asks Chen An to guide her through human customs, food, and daily life. 31 36
She is easily provoked by Chen An’s evasions and deliberate flirtation, yet her reactions reveal a less composed side: she becomes flustered, avoids further conversation, and visibly reddens after his remarks. 53 54
Although she recognizes that Chen An’s provocative remarks are intended to disgust her and create distance, she still feels uncomfortable afterward. Rather than abandon her scrutiny, she resumes observing him and declares that she will eventually uncover his secrets. Her irritation also surfaces in her wish to see Wu Changkong teach him a harsh lesson during their duel. 55 62 63 64
Her authority is tempered by practical consideration for her subordinates. She recognizes that coercing Chen An too harshly could damage their relationship, offers help with changes in his condition, and later asks sincerely about his future wishes rather than simply assigning him another mission. She permits him to remain with Class Zero while expecting him to fulfill her and Di Tian’s hopes. 43 80 81
Gu Yue maintains a firm boundary against cooperation with Evil Soul Masters, rejecting the Holy Spirit Cult’s promised benefits despite the soul beast race’s precarious situation. 81
Her growing familiarity with Class Zero brings out occasional humor and initiative. She joins Tang Wulin in teasing Xie Xie after a tournament victory and proposes a farewell hot pot buffet for the team, only to turn aside awkwardly and disguise the invitation as a question about hunger. 93 107
Abilities & Skills
Elemental Manipulation
Gu Yue can control multiple elements with exceptional speed and precision, allowing her to shift between offense, battlefield control, and defense. 34 40 42
- Launches fireballs and forms ice spheres to restrict opponents’ movement 40
- Raises earthen walls and uses wind-based restraints such as Wind Bind 40 41
- Combines elements into powerful golden-red flames 40
- Used fire, earth, and wind simultaneously to intercept Chen An’s flying scales 42
- Her elemental circulation can be disrupted by Chen An’s Ripple, temporarily preventing her from forming even a basic fireball 41
- Spreads waterballs across the ground to seal escape routes and direct an opponent toward her teammate 41
- Summons a ball of light to illuminate a nighttime demonstration 82
- Uses wind to accelerate Xie Xie during coordinated attacks 82
- Maintains an ice wall against the Starfall Cannon while supplying long-range support; the sustained effort nearly exhausts her Soul Power 93
- Releases a broad field of frost to impede Sea-Land Academy’s flanking students and force them to retreat 99
Dragon-Scale Resonance
A piece of Gu Yue’s Dragon Scale fused into Chen An, creating a same-origin connection between them. Gu Yue uses this link to assess his condition and gather intelligence regarding Tang Wulin. 27 36
- Chen An’s scale pattern can sense the Golden Dragon King’s general direction 10
- The connection supports concealed communication and surveillance while Chen An remains near Tang Wulin 27
- Gu Yue can perceive changes in Tang Wulin associated with the Golden Dragon King’s bloodline seal 44
- Close physical contact and deeply intertwined auras contribute to Chen An’s bloodline and cultivation growth. During the Skysea tournament, his carrying Gu Yue away from a Starfall Cannon attack becomes an important catalyst for his subsequent breakthrough. 93
- Gu Yue vaguely senses a change in Chen An after that breakthrough, though she cannot identify its exact nature. He later attributes his rapid cultivation to her Dragon Scale while concealing the full extent of his advancement. 103
Strategy and Command
As the soul beasts’ leader, Gu Yue organizes infiltration assignments and imposes strict limits on independent action by the ferocious beasts. 10
- Assigns specific human-world roles to Na'er, Chen An, Demon Spirit, and the other ferocious beasts 10
- Restricts Bear Lord and Scarlet King from acting without her personal decree 10
- Maintains her true relationship with Chen An in secret after entering Eastsea Academy 31
- Establishes a position within the Spirit Pagoda through discipleship under one of its vice tower masters 81
- Rejects the Holy Spirit Cult’s cooperation proposal and directs Chen An to avoid involvement with Evil Soul Masters 81
- Requires Chen An to report unusual incidents promptly rather than waiting for her to question him 103
Team Combat
Gu Yue generally supplies ranged attacks, elemental control, and defensive support while teammates handle close combat. Her cooperation with Tang Wulin combines physical pressure with elemental attacks, and she also accepts guard duty under Chen An’s leadership during the Rampage-Period Spirit Ascension Platform assessment. 41 58
Her effectiveness depends on stable Soul Power circulation and coordination. Xu Xiaoyan’s interference disrupts her rhythm during the new-semester practical assessment, leading to the defeat of Gu Yue and Xie Xie by Tang Wulin and Xu Xiaoyan. Later five-person training incorporates her fireballs and wind support into the team’s attacks against Wu Changkong. 78 82
Power Progression
| Chapter | Stage / Measurement | Development |

| 78 | Mental Power nearly 280 | The new-semester comprehensive assessment confirms substantial improvement in her Mental Power. 78 |
| 83 | Level 22; Two-Ring Grand Soul Master | Her Soul Power reaches level 22 after a month of intensified team training. 83 |
| 93 | Sustained defensive and ranged output | Maintains an ice wall against Starfall Cannon attacks and continues long-range support, nearly exhausting her Soul Power during Class Zero’s victory. 93 |
Relationships
- Gu Yuena — Gu Yue is one of Gu Yuena’s two incarnations, created alongside Na'er when Gu Yuena’s power and personality split. 2
- Na'er — Her counterpart incarnation. Na'er’s warmer outlook and advice to understand humans influence Gu Yue’s later efforts to experience human life. Gu Yue subsequently reports that Na'er’s own progress in human society is advancing. 2 31 81
- Di Tian — A subordinate who obeys Gu Yue’s authority and supports her infiltration strategy. Gu Yue shares his expectations for Chen An’s potential and reminds Chen An not to disappoint either of them. 10 81 103
- Chen An — Her subordinate and assigned infiltrator near Tang Wulin. Gu Yue regularly probes his concealed growth, scolds his conduct with Na'er, and later appoints him as her guide to human society. She persists in investigating him despite his efforts to distance her through provocative flirtation, but also considers his future wishes and allows him to continue cultivating with Class Zero. Their shared-origin resonance contributes to his growth, particularly after close contact during the Skysea tournament. 10 28 36 55 64 80 81 93
- Tang Wulin — The Golden Dragon King’s incarnation and Chen An’s adoptive older sister. Gu Yue monitors her condition while becoming intrigued by her warmth and dedication to Chen An. They cooperate closely in combat and later share a playful moment teasing Xie Xie after a tournament victory. 10 31 44 93
- Xie Xie — A Class Zero teammate. Gu Yue works alongside him, Chen An, and Tang Wulin during academy training and the Spirit Ascension Platform exercise. She sometimes treats his questions impatiently, but provides wind-assisted acceleration in team combat. Chen An suspects her involvement in Xie Xie’s unexplained absence, exhaustion, and memory loss after an outing, though the cause is not confirmed. 45 51 56 62 82
- Wu Changkong — Her Class Zero instructor. She participates in his assessments and demanding combat training, receiving 90 points in the preliminary duel assessment. After she declines the Tang Sect invitation, he promises separate arrangements for her and Chen An’s practical combat courses. 64 66 83
- Xu Xiaoyan — A new Class Zero teammate whom Gu Yue initially observes quietly. Xu Xiaoyan’s interference helps defeat Gu Yue during an assessment, but she subsequently becomes integrated into the group. Gu Yue attends her nighttime ability demonstration and supplies light for the gathering. 77 78 82 83
- Bi Ji — A member of the soul beast faction whose encounter with Holy Spirit Cult representatives prompts Gu Yue to warn Chen An about their proposed alliance. 81
- Spirit Pagoda vice tower master — Gu Yue’s unnamed human-world teacher. Her discipleship provides a successful foothold for her infiltration of the organization. 81
Story Role / Major Arcs
Star Dou Infiltration Plan
Gu Yue leads the soul beasts’ response to humanity’s expanding soul technology. She establishes the group’s infiltration strategy and makes Tang Wulin’s observation Chen An’s central mission. 10
Eastsea Academy Supervision
After enrolling at Eastsea Academy, Gu Yue covertly meets Chen An, tests his suppressed cultivation, and warns him against repeating his conduct with Na'er. She publicly treats him as a stranger to protect their true affiliation. 27 28 31
Her surveillance continues after Class Zero’s formation. She closely observes Chen An and Tang Wulin’s daily interactions, rejoins their post-examination outing despite Chen An’s attempts to repel her, and openly promises to uncover his hidden secrets. 46 62 64
Class Advancement Tournament
Gu Yue partners with Tang Wulin during the tournament, using elemental control to counter Class Three and later confronting Chen An directly. Chen An’s Ripple disrupts her elemental gathering, while his deliberate provocation escalates the match until the arena is too damaged to continue. 34 40 41 42
Learning Human Life
Influenced by Na'er and Tang Wulin, Gu Yue begins actively experiencing human society. She repeatedly has Chen An take her to restaurants and street markets, using food and observation to better understand human customs and relationships. 36 43 53
These excursions increasingly overlap with ordinary team companionship. She shares snacks with Tang Wulin and Chen An, participates in Class Zero’s food outings after Xu Xiaoyan joins, and eventually initiates a farewell buffet visit after the Skysea tournament. 62 83 107
Semester Assessments and Organizational Choices
During the Rampage-Period Spirit Ascension Platform examination, Gu Yue follows Chen An’s team plan, absorbs spiritual energy with the others, and guards the group while he intercepts approaching enemies. In the final stage, Chen An deliberately reduces his contribution so his teammates can demonstrate their abilities; all four leave together and receive full marks. 56 58 61
She receives 90 points in the preliminary combat assessment against Wu Changkong and later completes the Hero Hall trials. When the trials are revealed as a Tang Sect entrance assessment, she refuses membership because she already belongs to the Spirit Pagoda. 64 66
Spirit Pagoda Infiltration and Holy Spirit Cult Proposal
Gu Yue’s private visit to Chen An’s dormitory shifts from their usual mission-oriented exchanges to a sincere discussion of his future. She reveals both her discipleship under a Spirit Pagoda vice tower master and the Holy Spirit Cult’s offer to the soul beasts through Bi Ji. Rejecting cooperation with the cult, she warns Chen An against involvement and learns that he has already encountered Evil Soul Masters in several cities. 80 81
She allows Chen An to remain with Class Zero, acknowledging his potential and respecting his preferred cultivation path while retaining expectations of loyalty and progress. 81
New-Semester Training and Skysea Alliance Tournament
Gu Yue’s Mental Power approaches 280 at the new-semester assessment. Although she and Xie Xie lose their practical match to Tang Wulin and Xu Xiaoyan, she continues participating in increasingly demanding five-person training. After a month, her Soul Power reaches level 22, and Class Zero prepares to enter the Skysea Alliance Grand Tournament. 78 82 83
She forms the three-person lineup with Tang Wulin and Xie Xie, while Chen An is excluded from that event to give his teammates greater pressure and opportunities for growth. In the broader team competition, her ice wall and long-range support help secure victory against Starfall Cannon attacks. Chen An carries her clear of the third cannon strike, and their deeply intertwined auras contribute to his subsequent hidden breakthrough. 83 88 93
Against Sea-Land Academy, she takes the left side of the formation and uses frost to impede opposing flankers. Later, in a private hotel-room conversation, she questions Chen An’s disappearance and suspected Evil Soul Master encounter. He gives a partly truthful account, claiming a breakthrough to level 30, and she acknowledges his talent while requiring prompt reports of unusual events. 99 103
At the end of the tournament trip, Gu Yue proposes that the team return to a hot pot buffet together before their departure for Eastsea City. 107 108
