Appearance

Voldemort is a gaunt, pale wizard who favors flowing black robes. His face is marked by the absence of a nose, leaving only two nostril holes, and his skeletal hands commonly clutch the Elder Wand. 417 462

  • Noseless, pale face with a ghostlike appearance. 417 425
  • Black robes that can dissolve into or emerge from black smoke. 417 421
  • Skeletal, skin-wrapped fingers. 421
  • Carries the Elder Wand; after absorbing the God of Death, he also bears Death’s Skull. 417 426 427

Personality

Voldemort seeks domination through fear. He takes visible pleasure in making enemies despair, enjoys torturing victims, and regards terror as central to his identity. 417 427 462

He is prideful and territorial, dismissing Muggles as laughable even after their military exposes the Wizarding World’s vulnerability. As ruler of the Ministry, he initially favors oppression of Muggle-borns and half-bloods, a policy Li Zu considers strategically self-defeating. 417 419 420

Despite his arrogance, Voldemort recognizes superior power. He obeys Li Zu under the Imperius Curse, though he resents being reduced to a servant and actively considers Horcruxes a means to resist or complicate that control. 417 425

Story Role / Major Arcs

Return and rise in the Wizarding World

Voldemort returns through the Triwizard Tournament plot, causing immediate panic after Cedric Diggory’s death and Harry Potter’s warning that the Dark Lord is back. 412 He duels Dumbledore, then accelerates his campaign by attacking the Ministry of Magic as Dumbledore destroys his Horcruxes. 415

Death of Dumbledore and loss of autonomy

Voldemort lures Dumbledore into a trap involving Nagini and kills him with Avada Kedavra, claiming the Elder Wand. 416 417 Li Zu immediately Toyfies the dying Dumbledore, creates ten additional copies, and uses their combined magic to defeat Voldemort. Li Zu then places Voldemort under the Imperius Curse rather than killing him. 417

Ruler of the Wizarding World

With Dumbledore dead, Voldemort takes control of the Ministry and begins issuing oppressive decrees. 417 After Harry’s Horcrux is destroyed, Li Zu reinforces his control over the weakened Voldemort and uses enchanted toy helicopters to steer the confrontation. 418

Li Zu manipulates the Muggle invasion of the Wizarding World into an opportunity for Voldemort to become a public defender. Voldemort leads the Death Eaters against armed helicopters and ground forces, winning a costly victory that allows Li Zu to recast him as a heroic ruler. 420 421

Los Angeles demon conflict

After traveling with Li Zu to another world, Voldemort detects the aura of the underworld through the Elder Wand. 425 He helps kill Mictlantecuhtli, absorbs the God of Death’s power, gains Death’s Skull, and assists Li Zu and Constantine against multiple demons. 425 427

Conflict with S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers

Voldemort enters the S.H.I.E.L.D. world ahead of Dumbledore, petrifying agents and becoming the central magical threat pursued by the white wizard. 458 In Tennessee, he kills an Extremis-enhanced man, defeats Dumbledore in a duel, destroys a Harrier jet, and remains one of Li Zu’s primary assets during the ensuing confrontation with the Hulk. 462

Dark Dimension and Kamar-Taj

Voldemort joins Kaecilius’s circle and accepts Dormammu’s power. 489 He attacks the Ancient One, participates in Li Zu’s staged magical conflict, summons Dormammu, and later betrays the entity after its invasion fails. 490 491 Though publicly framed as Dumbledore’s villainous counterpart, Voldemort remains part of Li Zu’s scheme. 492 495

Thanos’ invasion

During Thanos and the Black Order’s invasion of Earth, Voldemort arrives with Death Eaters, declares Earth his territory, and attacks Thanos with Avada Kedavra. 510

  • Voldemort’s original Horcrux system makes killing him impractical until the Horcrux inside Harry Potter is destroyed. 412 418
