- Oven Island was a prosperous Big Mom Pirates territory governed by Charlotte Oven. Its harbor received pirate, merchant, noble, and even World Government vessels 161.
Economy and Defenses
- Under the Charlotte Family, Totto Land developed businesses in cargo transport, arms trafficking, slave trading, and war mercenary work. Its members used Big Mom’s influence to secure cooperation from forces beyond the New World 198.
- Big Mom’s reputation deterred intruders: the Charlotte Family feared that, without her, rival pirates would move against the islands 236.
- After her capture, the family still commanded roughly 60,000 fighters; about eighty percent of that force came from forces led by Charlotte’s children. It had already lost allied crews, hundreds of ships, and the Homie soldiers created by Big Mom’s power 256.
- The Queen Mama Chanter was the Big Mom Pirates’ flagship 201.
History
Big Mom’s rule and fall
Big Mom invited Douglas Bullet and the Demon God Pirates to a tea party on Whole Cake Island after learning of Bullet’s rising bounty. Bullet accepted the invitation through her envoys, Baron Tamago and Pekoms 96 128 129.
The Marines later destroyed Oven Island and killed Oven, Tamago, Pekoms, and more than 5,000 defenders. Big Mom attacked Marine bases in retaliation, then suffered defeat and capture in the Sri Lanka Waters. Katakuri led the Charlotte Family’s escape back to Totto Land 163 164 213 215. With Big Mom awaiting execution, Katakuri vowed to protect the islands despite acknowledging that the family could not reach her in time 236. After her death, he reaffirmed the Charlotte Family’s claim to Totto Land 242 243.
War for Totto Land
Kaido brought the Beast Pirates into Totto Land’s waters, claiming he had come to protect Big Mom’s territory. Katakuri and the Charlotte Family treated his arrival as a bid for control, and the two crews fought near Whole Cake Island 243 256 258. King killed Charlotte Cracker during the battle 259.
The Demon God Pirates and Whitebeard Pirates then entered the conflict to seize Totto Land. Facing both fleets, Katakuri and Kaido formed a temporary alliance, and the fighting became a four-way war across the territory’s waters 244 245 261 262 278. The Demon God Pirates ultimately won; intelligence reported that Bullet appeared in the final stages and defeated Kaido 291.
Under the Demon God Pirates
Bullet subsequently commanded the former Beast and Big Mom Pirates as part of his expanded forces 301. He chose Whole Cake Island for the Demon God Pirates’ future headquarters because it lay near the center of his territories. More than 100,000 of his personnel were to relocate there 310. After the battle, Charlotte Family members repaired Whole Cake Island’s damaged buildings within two or three days 320.
