The changes in Professor Binns's expression were all noticed by the observant little snakes.

Malfoy's face turned pale; he could hardly believe it.

If his ancestor really had some kind of affair with Professor Binns that Professor Binns couldn't forget for so long.

Wouldn't my current situation be extremely dangerous?

And so, Malfoy spent the lesson in the History of Magic in fear and confusion.

When class ended, most of the students in the classroom were slumped over, especially the Slytherin, led by Lester.

Less than 10 minutes into class, Lester was already falling asleep.

As a prominent figure in Slytherin, Lester's every move was observed by the Slytherin snake.

After discovering that Lester hadn't been scolded for sleeping, the other little snakes all imitated him perfectly.

I'm already prone to drowsiness in the afternoon, especially since it was Professor Binns's History of Magic class.

Although this ghost professor was diligent, his teaching ability was far from satisfactory.

His tone was flat, his voice unchanging, and his eyes were empty; he didn't interact with the students at all.

Many interesting historical events became so boring when he told them, making him lose interest.

Later on, all the first-year students in Slytherin, except for Malfoy who couldn't sleep because his anus felt a little cold, had long since fallen asleep.

The young wizards of Gryffindor followed suit, each putting their arms together, resting their heads on them, and falling fast asleep.

Only one stubborn figure stood tall, head held high, diligently taking notes.

Because of Lester's words, Malfoy was no longer willing to sleep in his History of Magic class.

What if I fall asleep and no one wakes me up? Wouldn't I end up sharing a room with Professor Binns?

How can a little boy like me possibly fight against an adult ghost?

So even though his upper and lower eyelids were drooping, Malfoy forced himself to stay awake and stared intently at Professor Binns.

If Professor Binns were to make any move against him, he would definitely shout it out.

After holding on for a few more minutes, everyone around him had already gone to sleep, and Malfoy was also starting to feel the strain.

The environment does affect people; even when everyone else is lying down to sleep, Malfoy will inevitably be affected.

Malfoy frantically searched the classroom, hoping to find someone still listening to the lesson, someone who could offer him a sense of solace.

Unfortunately, he searched the entire Slytherin community but couldn't find a single person who was attending the lecture.

Even Pansy was fast asleep, her little head tilted back and her mouth open.

Helpless, Malfoy could only look towards Gryffindor, and unsurprisingly, everyone in Gryffindor was also fast asleep.

Apart from a petite figure.

Malfoy knew her; she seemed to be a very arrogant little witch in Gryffindor, and not very popular Gryffindor.

Moreover, Lester had Jiedi blow up her books that morning.

"Damn it, why is this mud... Muggle-born the only one sleeping in the classroom?"

Malfoy's face showed displeasure; clearly, Hermione's background and performance at Hogwarts did not satisfy Malfoy.

"Fine, since there are no other Pure-blood wizard in the classroom, I'll reluctantly watch her lecture."

Malfoy did this for a simple reason: people tend to conform.

He doesn't sleep, so he needs a partner who also doesn't sleep, like Hermione.

So, whenever Malfoy, sitting in the back row, felt sleepy, he would cautiously glance at Hermione's back.

Whenever Malfoy saw Hermione's upright posture, he would perk up.

If a Muggle-born can stay awake, why can't I, the heir to the Malfoy family,?

But as the lesson went on, Malfoy couldn't help but glance in Hermione's direction.

The other people in the classroom were all lying down, so they didn't block Malfoy's view.

Malfoy, sitting in the last row, looked past all the students who were dozing off in the classroom, and finally focused on Hermione.

"I must say, this Muggle-born is quite diligent," Malfoy commented, feigning concern, though his heart was pounding.

Suddenly, Hermione, who was sitting in the first row, frowned and turned around.

She felt that someone in the back row was watching her.

However, a whole bunch of students in the back row were lying down, all of them asleep.

"Could it be my imagination?" Hermione muttered to herself before resuming her notes.

Meanwhile, Malfoy, sitting in the back row, felt his heart pounding wildly, having exerted too much force during the sudden exertion.

He didn't know why he had just collapsed; he only knew that something seemed off about him today.

"It's all Lester's fault. If he hadn't talked nonsense just now, I definitely wouldn't be like this."

Blushing to himself, Malfoy made up an excuse and then happily resumed his voyeuristic activities.

"I don't think she meant anything by it; she just wanted to keep my attention."

And so, Malfoy would glance at Hermione every now and then, and then Hermione would turn back, prompting Malfoy to scramble to avoid danger.

Lester, who had just woken up after a full class period, looked at Malfoy, who was panting heavily beside him, completely bewildered.

Lester abruptly clutched his backside, looking at the panting Malfoy in horror, and said urgently, "Malfoy, what are you trying to do? Didn't we agree to be just friends?"

After Lester woke up, all the other young Slytherin wizards also slowly woke up.

After briefly understanding the situation, they looked at Malfoy with horror and instinctively kept their distance from Malfoy.

They wondered why a proud and arrogant young master like Malfoy would take the initiative to submit to Lester; it turned out he had ulterior motives. No wonder they're from the Malfoy family —they're really something!
