Zero-Character Battle Armor differed somewhat from the Battle Armor that appeared in the original story. In the original, Battle Armor was a type of armor-like super mech that Spirit Masters personally helped create. It served as an extension of their strength and formed an important part of their power. Any Battle Armor Master was more than twenty ranks stronger than a Spirit Master of the same rank. For example, if a One-Word Battle Armor Master had five rings, putting on Battle Armor gave them strength equivalent to seven rings. A master wearing Two-Character Battle Armor was equivalent to an eight-ring Spirit Master, a Three-Word Battle Armor Master to a nine-ring Spirit Master, and a Four-Word Battle Armor Master to a Limit Douluo.
Battle Armor had four grades, with each successive grade adding another character to its name.
One-Character Battle Armor required every component to be made entirely through Thousand Forging, and a cultivation level of at least five rings.
Two-Character Battle Armor required every component to be made entirely through Spirit Forging, and a cultivation level of at least six rings.
Three-Character Battle Armor required every component to be made entirely through Soul Forging, and a cultivation level of at least seven rings.
Four-Character Battle Armor required every component to be made entirely through Divine Forging, and a cultivation level of at least nine rings.
In other words, an outstanding Battle Armor Master was also an outstanding blacksmith, one proficient in Thousand Forging.
The manufacturing process for Zero-Character Battle Armor severed that connection, leaving the forging entirely to blacksmiths. This freed Spirit Masters from the burden of having to learn and practice forging techniques. Of course, this was also due to the limitations of current forging standards. They had barely managed to create Zero-Character Battle Armor at all, and only
