Background

Ye Yu obtained Conqueror’s Haki from the Overlord System after transmigrating into the pirate world. His initial 1,000-point reward allowed him to match Whitebeard despite being under ten years old, leading Whitebeard to appoint him captain of the newly created Zero Division. 1

During the following decade, Ye Yu accumulated one point per day through system check-ins while living in seclusion under Whitebeard’s protection. By the time he emerged, his Haki had evolved beyond ordinary intimidation: it could attack, defend, physically affect Devil Fruit users, and take forms directed by his imagination. 1 3

Whitebeard identifies Ye Yu’s physical manifestation as a realm beyond ordinary Conqueror’s Coating. He attributes an offensive form of this technique to Rocks, while stating that Rocks never achieved Ye Yu’s complete, all-directional defensive control. 4 5
