Background

Lu Chen awakened his martial soul at six, but his consciousness instead entered the One-Punch World. There, he became Zombieman, trained under Silver Fang Bang, and fought during the Monster Association crisis. After recklessly confronting the entity called God, his regenerative body was reduced to particles; he consumed part of God’s light before his consciousness returned to Douluo Continent. 1

He awakened nearly four years later to find Tang Ya caring for him after the Iron Blood Sect destroyed the Tang Sect and killed her parents. Tang Ya had maintained his life, vitality, and meridians through the Mysterious Heaven Technique throughout his coma. Lu Chen accepted her parents’ vengeance as his own and vowed to help destroy the Iron Blood Sect. 1 2

His return left him with a full-body Martial Soul possessing Ultimate Light and the regenerative traits of Zombieman. Distrusting Shrek Academy and its connection to Tang San, he chose the Body Sect as the faction most suited to developing his Body Martial Soul. 2 3

Lu Chen is a young boy with abyss-like eyes that can carry a faint golden radiance. When he manifests his Martial Soul’s true body, a three-meter-tall golden giant resembling an enlarged, heavily muscled version of himself rises behind him. 1 2 15

In combat, he is ruthless and unnervingly fearless. He deliberately accepts grave injuries to create openings, relying on regeneration, pain tolerance, and explosive counters to break opponents psychologically as well as physically. 19 20
