The Fracture of Friendship, Madara's Killing Intent Toward Hashirama

Feeling the heat of the burning flames, it was as though they were standing in a sea of fire. No one could possibly have survived. After all, such a terrifying high-level Fire Release possessed the power to destroy everything.

The Uchiha Clan members believed the Senju Clan was nothing special. Compared to the Uchiha, every other ninja clan was trash!

The unruly Uchiha clansmen charged toward the Senju Clan, feeling that victory was right before their eyes.

Uchiha Madara had only just awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan and was still unaccustomed to fighting with Susanoo. Thinking that his good friend could not possibly have survived after being engulfed by such flames, he deactivated his Mangekyō Sharingan to conserve his ocular power.

Suddenly, the raging sea of fire was extinguished by towering waves that surged up from within the flames.

"Hashirama?!"

Uchiha Madara turned around and, sure enough, saw Senju Hashirama emerge alive. His face darkened at once as he reactivated his Mangekyō Sharingan and roared, "Why won't you just take your naivety and die?!"

Senju Hashirama said quietly, "I won't let you kill Tobirama! And I firmly believe that, through my efforts, I'll be able to create the peace I dream of!"

"Peace?! What peace? The slaughter between the Uchiha and Senju Clans? Stop joking. Peace is fundamentally impossible! Your brother, Tobirama Senju, nearly killed Izuna. And you still dare talk to me about dreams? It really makes me want to kill you!"

"On Tobirama's behalf, I'm sorry. But I can't stand by and watch you kill him! There must be a way to reconcile the hatred between the Senju and Uchiha. Then we can fight side by side!"

"Then kill Tobirama Senju with your own hands. Only then will I believe you."

What peace? What dreams? The things they had said as children were still being taken seriously now. It was laughable.

Uchiha Jobu frowned, thinking that this was bad. In the original timeline, Tobirama Senju would develop the Flying Raijin Technique in the future and use it to kill Izuna Uchiha. The enraged Uchiha Madara would then lead the Uchiha into war against the Senju time and again.

The two sides were evenly matched. If they kept fighting, there would be no victor.

Uchiha Madara stared in shock. He had never expected Senju Hashirama to truly dare plunge a kunai into his own chest, willing to sacrifice himself merely to dissolve the hatred between the Senju and Uchiha Clans.

"Madara! Don't be fooled! Do you not know how strong the vitality of the Senju Clan is? Such an injury is nothing more than a minor wound to Senju Hashirama. How could he possibly die?!"

"His so-called self-sacrifice is nothing but an act. He's trying to deceive you so the Senju and Uchiha can reconcile, then use the Uchiha Clan's strength to achieve those dreams he keeps talking about!"

Seeing that things were truly about to go wrong, and sensing that Uchiha Madara's resolve had already begun to waver, how could Uchiha Jobu possibly do nothing?

Upon hearing this, Uchiha Madara's expression immediately turned ugly. Only then did he remember that Senju Clan ninja possessed powerful vitality and could recover quickly from nearly any injury.

The stronger a Senju clansman was, the more immense his vitality. A Clan Leader Tier expert like Senju Hashirama had reached the point where even grievous wounds could be easily healed.

"Damn it! Hashirama, you actually dared deceive me! Die!"

Uchiha Madara roared. His strange Mangekyō Sharingan instantly erupted with terrifying ocular power, and the first stage of Susanoo materialized as it launched a direct attack on Senju Hashirama.

If Tobirama Senju had not used the Substitution Technique to escape and avoid the fatal blow, Uchiha Jobu would never have let him get away.

At this point, only the Uchiha and Senju were still fighting across the entire battlefield. The Hagoromo Clan and Uzumaki Clan had been reduced to peripheral spectators, unqualified to approach the center of the battlefield.
