Background / History

Naruto was raised without relatives and endured widespread disgust and hostility from those around him. Despite this, he introduced himself to Chen Feng with the declaration that he would become Hokage. Chen's divination recognized Naruto's difficult childhood but described him as blessed with the fortune to achieve what he sincerely pursues, including becoming Hokage 2 3.

During the Land of Waves mission, Naruto quickly came to regard Chen Feng as a friend. He rushed to help when Gato, Zabuza, and Haku threatened Chen, despite being outmatched. When Haku trapped Team 7 in Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals, Naruto and his teammates were injured by the resulting senbon barrage 6 7.

Naruto refused to accept a predetermined fate, declaring that he would fight Chen Feng rather than submit if Chen chose to support the enemy. His resolve impressed Chen, who recognized Naruto's firmness beneath his normally careless behavior 7.

After returning to Konoha, Naruto eagerly entered the Chūnin Exams, confident he would soon become a Chūnin 12. He later fought alongside Haku during the Ten-Tails crisis, using Sage Mode to help block a Tailed Beast attack with a giant tortoise shell. He subsequently joined the coalition assault on Six Paths Obito 113 114.

By the time Chen Feng returned to the shinobi world, Naruto had become the Seventh Hokage and was a father to Boruto and Himawari. He was notably more steady than in his youth 195 201.

Naruto is energetic, outspoken, and ambitious. He is prone to acting before thinking—such as charging toward Zabuza's group to defend Chen Feng—but his impulsiveness stems from a strong instinct to protect friends and oppose injustice 1 6.

He is also exceptionally determined. Naruto refuses to yield to fatalistic ideas, and he continues standing against Momoshiki even after suffering severe injuries and losing Sage Tailed Beast Mode 7 199.
