Background & Story Role

Xingluo obligations and Shrek Academy

Zhuqing fled Xingluo carrying exhaustion and concealed injuries connected to her circumstances there. Lin Yan’s Holy Light Healing restored her stamina and removed those lingering injuries, creating her first favorable impression of him 2.

She joined Shrek Academy to cultivate rather than to reunite with Dai Mubai, her politically arranged fiancé. Zhuqing viewed Dai as irresponsible, sexually promiscuous, and dangerously unprepared for the Xingluo imperial succession struggle, where defeat could mean death 21.

Alliance with Lin Yan

After witnessing Lin Yan’s soul-guidance weapons, Zhuqing sought him out privately to determine whether she could use them herself. She wanted strength that would let her survive without relying on Dai Mubai or the Xingluo royal family 18 19.

Her initial attempt to obtain Lin Yan’s weapons was transactional and distrustful, but she ultimately chose him over Dai Mubai and entered a secret relationship with him. Lin Yan’s system registered her favorability at 100% after she openly broke with Dai 20 21 22.

Break with Dai Mubai

Zhuqing repeatedly rejected Dai Mubai’s possessiveness and condemned his habit of blaming others for the consequences of his own behavior. She refused to support him during the conflict with Canghui Academy and openly called him incompetent after he blamed Ning Rongrong for the group’s poor performance 21 22.

Dai’s hostility escalated into an attempted assault, which Zhuqing survived through a Soul Shield supplied by Lin Yan 23. When Dai later ambushed Zhuqing, Ning Rongrong, and Lin Yan with Xingluo guards, Zhuqing accepted Lin Yan’s public declaration that they were together and fought beside him 45 46.

After Lin Yan defeated Dai and his guards, Zhuqing and Ning Rongrong jointly executed Dai with soul-guidance weapons. Dai’s attempt to offer Zhuqing to Lin Yan in exchange for his own life confirmed Zhuqing’s belief that leaving him had been the correct choice 48.

Tiger Talisman

Lin Yan gave Zhuqing the Tiger Talisman obtained through his system reward. When activated, it split her into two physically separate selves with identical memories but contrasting personalities: one gentle, shy, and apologetic; the other cold, defiant, and fiercely self-reliant 23 24.

The colder personality immediately tried to escape after realizing she was independent from the original Zhuqing, establishing that the division creates two autonomous wills rather than a simple illusion or obedient clone 24.

Departure from Soto City

Following Dai’s death and the worsening conflict with Tang San’s side, Zhuqing left Soto City with Lin Yan, Ning Rongrong, and Xiao Wu. She continued to receive customized equipment from Lin Yan during their journey to Tiandou City, where the group reached the Ye Residence 64 66 67.

She is blunt toward people she finds irresponsible or hypocritical. Zhuqing openly condemns Dai’s womanizing, entitlement, and refusal to prepare for the political danger facing them both 21 22.

The Tiger Talisman externalizes her internal conflict. Her gentler half seeks reassurance and worries about offending others, while her colder half rejects dependence, prioritizes personal strength, and instinctively seeks freedom 24.
