Tang San is later revealed to be Tang Hao’s son and the inheritor of twin martial souls: Tang Hao’s Clear Sky Hammer and A Yin’s Blue Silver Grass. Tang Hao also reveals that A Yin left behind a spirit bone intended to restore Tang San’s body and awaken his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline. 69 73

Tang Hao intends Tang San to become the central figure in a future campaign against Spirit Hall. He orders Flender to cultivate Lin Yan as Tang San’s subordinate and views the other Shrek students as prospective supporters of his son’s revenge. Personality

Tang San is fiercely proud of his talent, Tang Sect inheritance, and reputation. When Lin Yan receives recognition for superior healing, spirit-beast knowledge, or social support, Tang San repeatedly treats it as a personal challenge and attempts to reassert himself through reckless displays of strength. 26 27

His devotion can become destructive. He pursues Xiao Wu alone despite severe injuries and the threat of the Titan Giant Ape, and later attempts to confront a vastly superior force in Yu Xiaogang’s name. 31 58 He is also deeply dependent on Yu Xiaogang’s approval; the threat of expulsion makes him immediately submit and blame Lin Yan for his own choices. 39

Tang San values Xiao Wu more than the power Tang Hao promises him. He rejects Tang Hao’s plan to capture her for a hundred-thousand-year spirit ring and spirit bone, then breaks down after Xiao Wu permanently ends their relationship. 62 69

His humiliation also produces violent resentment toward his classmates. After the group condemns his ingratitude in the forest, he privately imagines killing them once he becomes powerful enough. Nevertheless, he remains highly sensitive to their opinions and panics when he realizes that he has damaged his reputation. 35

Following his defeat, Tang San alternates between emotional withdrawal, grief over Xiao Wu, and submission to his teacher. Yu Xiaogang again uses the threat of expulsion to make him promise to cultivate and pursue revenge against Lin Yan. 64 65

Conflict with Lin Yan

Tang San first clashes with Lin Yan after witnessing the Prayer Angel’s four thousand-year rings. He questions Lin Yan’s defiance of Yu Xiaogang’s ring-limit theory, disparages support Spirit Masters, and becomes the target of Ning Rongrong’s public rebuke. 2 3

His hostility escalates after his storage belt disappears. Convinced that Lin Yan stole his hidden-weapon blueprints, Tang San grabs him by the collar at the Soul Fighting Arena and accuses him of theft, but Flender and the other Shrek students support Lin Yan instead. 13 14

Xiao Wu also urges him to stop the confrontation and apologize. Her refusal to support his accusation leaves him feeling betrayed by the person he considers his closest family, even though his suspicion about Lin Yan’s involvement in the theft is correct. 13 14

Star Dou Great Forest

Tang San’s jealousy of Lin Yan’s competence drives him to intercept the Cockscomb Phoenix Snake himself rather than coordinating with the team. Though he subdues it, he suffers internal injuries and refuses healing to preserve his image. 26 27

He worsens the situation by insulting Chaotian Xiang, forcing Zhao Wuji to surrender the spirit beast to avoid provoking the Dragon Duke. Zhao Wuji’s reprimand makes Tang San recognize the danger of the outside world, though the lesson does not prevent later impulsive behavior. 28 29

After Xiao Wu is taken by the Titan Giant Ape, Tang San pursues her while injured and without his hidden weapons. He fights the Man-Faced Demon Spider with the Clear Sky Hammer, but Lin Yan kills the creature, heals Tang San, and secretly takes the Eight Spider Lances from the corpse. 31 32

Believing that Lin Yan has saved him despite their hostility, Tang San apologizes and promises repayment. He nevertheless feels an unexplained sense that he has lost something important. After returning with Xiao Wu, he announces that the fight has raised him to level 30. 32 33

Lone Bamboo and Break with Shrek

Tang San obtains a Millennium Lone Bamboo as his third spirit ring after confronting Zhao Wuji and the group over their refusal to assist him. The ring grants Toughness and a trunk spirit bone, but Yu Xiaogang reacts violently because the life-attribute path threatens his intended poison-focused cultivation plan. 34 38 39

On returning to camp, Tang San hopes to share his spirit-ring and spirit-bone gains with Xiao Wu. Instead, he finds Lin Yan asleep with his head in her lap and mistakenly interprets the arrangement as romantic betrayal. 36 37

When Lin Yan severs Yu Xiaogang’s arm with the Light Shadow Sword, Tang San prepares to retaliate with Blue Silver Grass. Zhu Zhuqing blocks him, and Lin Yan reminds him that Xiao Wu’s condition depends on his healing. Tang San’s hesitation prevents him from carrying out Yu Xiaogang’s demand to kill Lin Yan. 52

Tang San later joins Yu Xiaogang and Flender in confronting Lin Yan over Yu Xiaogang’s severed arm. He insists on revenge despite being outnumbered, but Oscar and Ma Hongjun refuse to support what they consider a suicidal fight. 57 58

His attempt to compensate for previously choosing Xiao Wu over Yu Xiaogang helps drive this renewed confrontation. Yu Xiaogang himself refuses to fight, while Lin Yan places Tang San at Ruhua’s mercy. 57 58 59

Defeat and Separation from Xiao Wu

After the conflict with Lin Yan’s allies, Tang San is left with severed hand and foot tendons. He begs Xiao Wu to return to their former life, but she rejects him, renounces their sibling-like bond, and leaves with Lin Yan. 62

The loss of Xiao Wu turns Tang San’s hostility toward Lin Yan into an explicit lifelong vendetta. 62

His injuries also include genital mutilation, giving the nickname “Tang Er” a physical basis. Flender and Li Yusong recover him, and healing Spirit Masters provide treatment, but his missing body parts do not regenerate. 62 64 69

While recovering at Shrek, Tang San begins connecting his Clear Sky Hammer with the Clear Sky School and questions his father’s supposed identity as an ordinary blacksmith. Yu Xiaogang suppresses these questions and threatens to expel him when his grief over Xiao Wu prevents him from focusing on cultivation. Yu Xiaogang and Flender then agree to hide his injuries from Tang Hao, only for Tang Hao to overhear their discussion. 64 65

Tang Hao’s Revelations

Tang Hao reveals Tang San’s Clear Sky School heritage, A Yin’s spirit bone, and Xiao Wu’s identity as a hundred-thousand-year soul beast. Tang San reacts with rage, condemning Tang Hao for his hidden identity, his neglect, and his willingness to sacrifice Xiao Wu for Tang San’s power. 69

Tang Hao’s anger escalates into a burst of Title Douluo pressure that throws Tang San against a wall and knocks him unconscious. After Yu Xiaogang redirects blame toward Lin Yan, Tang Hao prioritizes treatment and takes Tang San away to retrieve A Yin’s spirit bone. 70

Tang Hao takes Tang San to A Yin’s hidden waterfall cave, only to discover that both A Yin’s Blue Silver Emperor seed and her spirit bone have been taken. Tang San witnesses his father’s collapse and learns that Tang Hao had not visited A Yin for twelve years. 73

Tang San supports and comforts Tang Hao despite their earlier conflict. The missing spirit bone leaves the proposed regeneration of his body unresolved, while his father’s grief causes old injuries to relapse and his cultivation to fall from level 95 to level 91. 73 74

Waiting for Treatment and Tang Hao’s Death

Tang San returns to Shrek Academy and waits with Yu Xiaogang for Tang Hao to bring back Ye Rou’er from Heaven Dou City. Her Nine Heart Begonia healing abilities become their next hope of restoring his damaged body, particularly his lost genitals. 85

Meanwhile, Tang Hao’s retaliation has worsened the academy’s crisis: he cripples Flender and Li Yusong below the waist for failing to protect Tang San. When Li Yusong angrily condemns the father and son, Tang San invokes Tang Hao’s power to threaten him. 85

Tang Hao reaches the Ye Residence, confronts Lin Yan over Tang San’s mutilation, and attempts to reclaim Xiao Wu. His discovery that Lin Yan also possesses A Yin drives him into a suicidal battle against Lin Yan’s Titled Douluo puppet. By the time Tang San is shown waiting for his return, Tang Hao is dead and Lin Yan has recovered six spirit bones from his corpse; Tang San has not yet learned of the death. 82 83 85
