Background

Sea God Island holds supreme religious status among Sea Soul Masters, who regard it as both the ocean’s sacred land and their shared spiritual home. Its influence allows it to summon sea soul masters from across the ocean, though the distance between settlements limits how quickly this can be done. 48 57

The island is led by Sea God High Priest Bo Saixi, a Rank 99 Peerless Douluo, and defended by the Seven Pillar Guardian Douluo. Its purpose includes safeguarding the Sea God’s legacy and supporting the deity’s chosen inheritor. 45 58 67

Tang San arrives at Sea God Island after fleeing the mainland following Qian Renxue’s death. He begins the Nine Sea God Trials and becomes the Sea God’s designated successor, while several of his companions also gain divine inheritances. Bo Saixi and Sea Dragon Douluo initially suspect that Tang San’s group is concealing its true reason for seeking refuge. 42

Sea God Inheritance

Tang San’s initiation of the Nine Sea God Trials turns Sea God Island into the central protector of the Sea God’s prospective successor. Passing all nine trials would allow him to inherit the Sea God’s throne. 50

A revelation from the Sea God commands the island to protect Tang San until he becomes a god. Bo Saixi treats this order as absolute, refusing to surrender him despite knowing that he killed Qian Renxue and that Spirit Hall will retaliate. 45 58

War with the Spirit Hall Empire

Cause of the conflict

Qian Daoliu demands Tang San’s surrender after Tang San kills Qian Renxue. Bo Saixi refuses, declaring that she will protect the Sea God’s successor for as long as she lives. Qian Daoliu consequently declares total war on Sea God Island and returns to mobilize Spirit Hall’s forces. 44

Sea Dragon Douluo and the other guardians resent Tang San’s group for concealing the circumstances of Qian Renxue’s death and bringing Spirit Hall’s vengeance to the island. Sea Dragon repeatedly argues that Tang San should be surrendered rather than allow Sea God Island to be destroyed for an outsider. 45 48 59

Mobilization

Bo Saixi issues a Sea God Decree calling capable Sea Soul Masters to the island. The order gathers just over 5,000 defenders within three days, but many potential responders cannot be reached or refuse to fight the Spirit Hall Empire. 48 57

Bo Saixi publicly rallies the defenders, swearing that she and the Seven Pillar Douluo will lead from the front. The Pillar Douluo then organize the force into defensive positions across the island. 58

Invasion

The Spirit Hall Empire attacks with more than 8,000 elite Soul Masters, over 100 Angel Legion Soul Saints, fifteen Titled Douluo, and seven Super Douluo. Qian Daoliu personally leads the campaign. 62 67

Qian Daoliu opens the assault with his Ninth Soul Skill, Sun Descent, launching a gigantic black fireball capable of shattering and sinking the island. Bo Saixi blocks it with an azure barrier formed through her Sea God martial soul, though the collision kills weaker defenders in its aftermath. 65 66

The main battle rapidly becomes one-sided:

• The Angel Legion, elite Soul Master Legion, and Spirit Hall Empire elders overwhelm the poorly coordinated Sea Soul Masters along the coastline. 69 71

Destruction

As Sea God Island collapses, Tang San, Yu Xiaogang, and their companions secretly leave through the rear cove using a boat prepared for their evacuation. The defenders are neither informed nor given an opportunity to coordinate the escape. 72 76

Bo Saixi continues fighting after the island’s defeat is certain, seeking to delay Qian Daoliu long enough for Tang San to escape. Her final Sea God Descent attack creates an ocean-spanning tsunami, but Qian Daoliu counters it with Sun Descent: Suns Patrol the Sky. 77 78

After the battle, Qian Daoliu orders the extermination of every remaining Sea Soul Master on the island. The Spirit Hall Empire’s search for Tang San reveals that he had already fled, devastating Bo Saixi after she realizes that the people for whom Sea God Island sacrificed its ten-thousand-year legacy abandoned it without warning. 79
