Background / History
Bluefire City and escape from Bagoda
Bluefire was a celebrated genius on the continent a million years earlier. In Bagoda Plane Prison, he became lord of Bluefire City and one of the Five Great Kings. Two fellow Kings—the Destruction King and Light King—were among his rare friends. They were visiting his City Lord’s Manor when the Supreme God Array was forced open, allowing them to escape together 163 165.
Copper Gong Mountain
On Yulan Mainland, Bluefire established his residence at Copper Gong Mountain. He gave guidance to Saint Domain Limit cultivators once every ten years, earning Wharton’s admiration for helping people far weaker than himself 163.
Wharton and Little Gold visited him to resolve a Lightning Law fusion bottleneck. Bluefire identified Wharton’s overly rigid approach and recommended exploring other Profound Mysteries instead of forcing a fixed sequence. Wharton stayed for half a month, exchanging cultivation insights daily and giving Bluefire two secret manuals 164.
Afterward, Bluefire killed a Six-Star Demon from the Rheinlars Family who had ambushed Linley and threatened his brothers. The Baruch Empire retaliated by destroying the family’s Middle God forces on the mainland 165.
Bluefire Continent
Following his Fire Law breakthrough, Bluefire began constructing a continent in the Southern Sea at the location of his original homeland. The project reflected his attachment to the past and occupied enough of his attention that other experts tried to exploit his absence from mainland affairs 165.
The completed Bluefire Continent, also called Azurefire Continent, was larger than Yulan Mainland. Initially sparsely populated, it became prosperous over several thousand years through human relocation, the introduction of Saint-Domain magical beasts from the Supreme Planes, and the publication of cultivation knowledge 166 268.
Linley and the wider conflicts
During the Planar Battlefield crisis, Bluefire repeatedly ordered Magnus to spare Linley. Magnus ignored him and delivered a devastating soul attack. Wharton entrusted the wounded Linley to Bluefire before attacking Magnus 307.
Bluefire was astonished that Wharton could batter a Paragon without allowing him to retaliate. Their subsequent discussion introduced Bluefire to a path beyond Paragon based on deeper mastery and control of the laws 308 309.
Later, Bluefire and Linley lay in ambush within Spatial Turbulence while Beirut lured the Lower Sovereign Treisia into their trap 342.
Appearance
- Fiery red eyebrows are his most striking described feature 164.
- Wears white robes while observing the battles involving Linley, Magnus, Lei Sijing, and Bayer 312.
Personality
Bluefire combines pride in exceptional talent with a willingness to teach weaker cultivators. He has little interest in forming close friendships with mediocre individuals, but appreciates Wharton’s confidence and potential rather than treating his ambitions as an insult 163 165.
He is candid about the limits of his expertise, identifying Fire and Earth as his specialties rather than claiming mastery of every law. His gratitude toward Wharton also shows that he remains willing to learn from others despite his own accomplishments 164 309.
His attachment to his homeland drives the creation of Bluefire Continent. He takes particular care of that territory, placing his brothers in administrative roles while Odin expands elsewhere on Yulan Mainland 165 269.
