Background / History

Lorna was abandoned as a baby and raised in an orphanage without knowing her parents. After leaving the orphanage, she found work and supported herself until her mutant power awakened during a workplace accident. Her attempt to save a coworker exposed her abilities and resulted in her dismissal, leaving her impoverished, without stable housing, identification, or a driver’s license. 14 26

Ke Chen found Lorna while she was hungry and vulnerable, bought her a meal, and accepted her mutant identity when she feared he would reject her. He offered her a room at his Long Island villa; she accepted an arrangement in which she would live with him and handle his “daily needs.” 14

After moving in, Lorna chose the bedroom beside Ke Chen’s master bedroom. His hospitality, cooking, and efforts to help her adapt to wealth and security made her view him as her “Prince Charming” and new family. 15 16

Her power surge changed her hair from black to green. Initially terrified that the transformation would make her repulsive, she gradually accepted the change after Ke Chen reassured her that her abilities were a gift. 16

Bullseye, S.H.I.E.L.D., and Kingpin

While shopping with Elektra, Lorna stops Bullseye’s assassination attempt and reveals the scale of her magnetic abilities.
