Gon charged into the black vortex.
His Nen was swallowed the instant it touched the vortex. He could not even maintain the Nen Drill of his Fortyfold Spinning Rock Scissors Paper. His fist felt as though it had plunged into a mass of viscous darkness, touching nothing.
"This is bad—!!!"
Gon tried to retreat, but the vortex's pull caught him and drew him toward its center. His Nen drained away rapidly. His limbs went weak, and his vision blurred.
"Gon—!!!" Killua shouted. White arcs of electricity shot out wildly as he tried to pull Gon back, but they were swallowed as soon as they neared the vortex.
Kurapika shot out his Chain toward Gon's waist, but the moment it entered the vortex, it began to be swallowed. Its length dwindled rapidly.
"I can't hold him!" he said through gritted teeth. "It's eating the Chain!"
Leorio fired an Impact Fist at the vortex, trying to break its pull, but the shockwave was swallowed too. It did not even raise a ripple.
Gon drifted closer and closer to the vortex's center. Its needlepoint-sized core was right before his eyes. But he had no Nen left, not even the strength to raise a hand.
I'm done for...
Just then—
A hand reached over from behind and grabbed him by the back of his collar.
Then he was lifted away. As easily as picking up a kitten, the hand plucked him out of the black vortex.
Gon landed on the ground and looked up.
A yellow bodysuit, a white cape, a bald head, and an expression that said he was still half asleep.
Saitama.
"Ah..." Saitama yawned and rubbed his eyes. "So noisy."
He glanced at the black vortex in the center and tilted his head.
"Is that thing making all the noise?"
He
